I think that HD could be from a local mechanic and racer from Louisville KY. I believe I have seen this stamp. Harold Dahl worked for VV Cooke Chevrolet and had a shop at home where he did a lot of hot rod and tuning work back in the day.Harold died in 2006.

This is a great post for me being a Ky. connection. My brother bought a 71 Vette from VV Cooke. Sure hope this engine gets back with the car.

If I am not mistaken isn't this the car Dean Davis owned and restored?
|
Mick, yes we believe it is. Nuge, Chris, Bennie, and I talked to Dean a good while at Mecum when he had the car there. I nearly decided to get it but didn’t and the car went for relatively cheap, but Dean appeared ready to let it go. As soon as it hammered and several times since I had some regrets for not going after it. He did an amazing job restoring it and it’s a great car.

Yes, Myron noted it was D. Davis' car in his 2016 posting w/ Mecum pics as Pg.1 link, again here... https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1420011 All in, appears to be a great car that's going to get even better reunited w/ Original lump, looking forward to more! :beers: ~ Pete . |

Car has been located and PM has been sent to the original poster.

Curious, how much value would the original engine add to the car if reunited?
Would that number be the value of the engine? More? Less? |
I think going forward that should be a private discussion between the seller and buyer.
|
Absolutely, no concern to anyone else.

All true but seller posting on other sites seeking fair value which is understandable, here's a link to yesterday's TC thread... https://www.camaros.net/threads/docu...ost-1783330605 :beers: ~ Pete . |
