Thanks Paul, tried both numbers to no avail.
Thanks, Luzl78, his cell phone goes right to a generic voice mail, mailbox is full cannot leave a message. Doc. |
Try sending a text. Even if the mailbox is full, it will accept texts. Just a thought.

Text him that you have a 68 motion nova that you would like verified. That’ll peak his interest

I thought I remembered that he posted that he was sick-quite a while back? It wasn't under the screen name shown above though?
|
Last I spoke to him was a few years back I believe. I know there were some issues with health and with work at that time for him.
He was always willing to help out with information. Hope everything's ok with him. /R |
Unfortunately, he lost his home in Quakertown, PA several years ago due to back taxes, and then made a spectacle of the situation by boarding himself up inside of it. So, it was all over the news and simply made a bad situation worse. I believe he then moved back to NJ, and was rebuilding his tile installation business, but then lost track of him. I will always remain a 'Dan Fan', his enthusiasm was / is unmatchable as is his willingness to share information. Although a bit abrasive at times, it was typically warranted towards those who were in this hobby only for the $$$.... Hope he is doing well, and thriving instead of surviving.

x2! Great guy. I haven't talked to him in 3-4 years right around the time he was loosing his house. I know he sold all his cars and I know the guy his motion Nova went to. He disappeared to. I haven't heard from Barry in a while either.
|
Last I heard from him was last year. He called. Health was not good. Don't think he could do tiling anymore as his knees were shot.
|
Last time I heard from him 3 yrs ago he was all about politics. Cars were ok, but over the edge on the other. Good guy on a hair trigger.
|
Dan may not be available for a bit.

Dan was always pleasant and generous with me. He did a lot of research on ZL1 #4 for us, leading to the first retail owner. Found an NOS Hauser Chev dealer badge. He gave us all this, didn't ask for anything. Of course, he was rewarded.
Hope he gets his life back on track. |
Sorry to hear this. That was late 2018, hopefully hes out or close.

Let's hope things are improving for Dan, awesome guy w/ great prowess backtracking old muscle also love for genuine Supercars. :beers: ~ Pete . |
I didn't have so pleasant of an interaction with Dan. It was bad enough that I don't give out my phone number anymore.

The date on the appeal verdict is 11/27/19
I am kind of shocked he was charged with obstruction. In N.C. - cases i have known friends involved with, refusal normally just leads directly to an automatic conviction and loss of license. Its usually cheaper that way. But a few more complications on getting license reinstated when time comes. Supposing he must have really put on a show at the DUI processing center or during the whole fiasco start to finish. They put some extra nails in his butt for being "difficult". The obstruction conviction seems even more burdensome than a DUI conviction. I'm not a lawyer in any capacity Its just an eye-opener to me. And i have some good questions at the next "biker lawyer" free seminar Q&A. Very Sorry that all these things have happened to this fellow. Push and Shove with government entities is a terrible place to land. |
Anyone know where his blue 68 L78 went? I sold it to him in the early 90s while in the military. It was my first car and I would love to find it. Still had the original CA license plate with it last time I saw it in ~05 vnd268. Had a 427 with Muncie 4 speed.. Thanks.. Damon

For those who knew Dan. RIP
Dan and Bill Z were the sole reason I found the '68 Dick Harrell Chevelle. Dan was the one who put the partial VIN's on the Chevelle board. We would chat every couple of months. I'll miss him. https://www.tributearchive.com/obitu...el-m-palchanes |
Too bad hes gone.
I tried to get hold of him for several years. It was Dan who figured out I had Heavys Camaro. |
RIP Dan he helped a friend of mine with a car.
Carleen, which Camaro is that? |
RIP Dan. He helped me when I was looking for a '68 L79 Chevy II quite a number of years ago. Great resource if you were looking for info on a historical old race car or a dealer special like a Baldwin-Motion, Yenko, etc.
|
Wow, sorry to hear about Dan. He really got into researching some of the old musclecars and did rub some people the wrong way. I talked to him a few times about different cars and never had any issues with him. I had heard he was having some health issues but sorry to hear he passed.
|
Spoke to Dan a bunch of times, he always pushed me to find out more info about some Bklyn Heavy cars I had info on, he knew a lot about them that is for sure. He was a unique individual, but had quite a passion for those obscure cars. I'm sure he's in Joel Rosen's face as we speak, lol. RIP

Interestingly, I texted Dan a a few weeks after he passed to let him know Rosen died. I didn't know at the time Dan had passed either. |

Charlie posted an In Memoriam. |
Wow, don't get on here as often as I used to. Used to speak to Dan regularly about cars. Great guy (albeit with a temper if you got on his bad side) but always helpful with what info he had. Shared freely. Sorry to hear this.
/R |
RIP Dan. It was great to have had the chance to meet you.
