"When the new Camaros reached Chevrolet showroom floors in late 1966, the Mussers parked their Corvette in favor of one of the new muscle cars. They chose a model that had a single-four-barrel-carbureted, 302-cid engine and a cowl induction hood for SS/E competition. The following year, they ran a '68 Camaro with the same package, then switched to a 427-cid, 425-- horsepower SS/E '69 Camaro the next season."
