Self-employed small business men do not ever get to retire....They just break down to the point you can't work anymore.....

Keith
You'll do fine, just keep playing with the cars. I retired at 59 from a great job as a corporate aircraft mechanic in Goodyrear's filight operations (not the Blimps ! ) So for the last 13 years I have been able to stay busy restoring cars I can't afford I have had my hands on some very awesome cars, kind off makes up for missing out back in the day. And I have only missed one MCACN when Dad passed and have made a ton of good friends along the way, it's all about the people. Mike |

congrats on retirement. its fantastic. I retired in 2015 after 30 with Verizon. at 53 having nothing to do everyday but going to play in the garage is nice for awhile but having nowhere to go everyday gets old quick. took a part time job with the gas company 3 hrs a day 4 days a week is golden enjoy retirement

I just buy my own HC.
Do it, get the hell out while your still alive. There’s so much to do around the house, you never get done. Then there’s remolding. Last edited by Burd; 02-21-2019 at 07:57 PM. |

Social Security is much easier, just 'do the math'. You will come up with a break-even point, where at a certain age you will start being ahead of the game. No history of longevity of males in my family, so I took it at 62. If I live past 79 1/2, I will start losing money, but if that happens I will have outlived all the other males in my family history by far so I won't care.
