Default Building Our Shop

My step-father and mother bought an old farm house that was in foreclosure several years ago. On the property was an old pole barn that was in bad shape. The former owner was a driver for Snap On and this is where he kept is truck. We have started the process of transforming this beast into a usable shop. We are doing as much of the work we can on our own. Thanks to Sam Griffith for pushing me along to get the pics up. Hope you enjoy!!

First up was the clean out. The tenant (former friend) left a bunch of junk for us to clean out.

The roof deck was not in bad shape but the rafter tails were completely rotted. All the tails had to be cut off and replaced along with the gutter board. Then a new 6 in. gutter was installed. All dried in.

Next up was the lighting. Pulled out the 20+ year old florescent fixtures and added 6 new high output LED lights. We kept the old mercury vapor light on the front. Just had to re-feed it and change the photocell. Fired right up!

Last project until the Spring. Installing a new 10X12 roll up door. This was surprisingly easy! I'll be back with more updates in March/April

Spring projects include
High performance floor coating from Sherwin Williams
Chevrolet Floor Graphics
2 post lift
insulation and wall coverings
