I would appreciate it very much if anyone has an idea on the value of a nos 68-9 olds 400 W-30 factory shortblock.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Olds 400 W-30 NOS short block value?
I'd say around $1500 - and that's only if it was properly stored and is usable without any machine work. The 68-69 400s are mainly desirable for restoration, so add if it's not stamped (not that anyone would stamp it to match their car...)
BTW, as a short block it's not a w-30 piece - with the W-30 only D heads and aluminum intake would be a different story. |

Re: Olds 400 W-30 NOS short block value?
That era W30 (400 motor) had a cast iron intake. Would agree with $1000 - $1500 or so for value.
For sure NOS D heads would be worth more than the shortblock. Don't see many NOS Olds blocks surface though, that's for sure. |

Re: Olds 400 W-30 NOS short block value?
It has LISB with a much larger 588 below it. The rods have 12 point rod nuts with extra meat around the rod nuts on the cap and they have been balanced. The cam has green/white color code marks. The block is a #396026 G F1 and the pistons have ink stamps with C and D on the tops. The GM crate has the same LISB 588 on it along with # 230824.
