These are great. Here is mine. Be curious to hear about floor, heat and light choices

Yes Bill...plans are to finish it complete with a station front, overhead canopy and pump island.

Right now I have my gas pumps and station lights displayed inside and would like to move them to the exterior. Had 18 pumps at one point. (lol)

For lighting in my current garage and shop I've been using T5 daylight fluorescent fixtures and bulbs. My buddies kid is a sparky and we're planning to convert over to LED whenever I start the new build. As far as heating goes, I have forced air H/E ceiling furnaces in the current shops but will likely go with an in floor boiler when this new shop gets started.

I know you're in Cali so do you even need heat other than a hot water tank? Or do you only plan on a water heater and Air Conditioning because you don't need heat?

Default Finally a garage again. Yes, big garage again..

Here is a pic I took today to bring the thread up to date. I have 18 4' LED's for the main bay. will have 8 in work area and then go from there. Not hung since no drywall yet but they seem quite bright as I have a few hanging around I can turn on at night. I have t8's in my attached garage and they work pretty good but trying to keep from browning out the neighbors when I flip a switch..

Yes, best Jeep I have ever owned and wouldn't part with it. I put a custom 4.5" aluminum long arm lift on it and it walks through anything you point it towards. Dana 44's front and rear, 4.1 gears, lockers, 4:1 transfer case. you can get out and walk beside the thing it tractors so slow.. Love it..

I did the LED's in my new garage too. I really like them except for the price.

Default Garage updates

Well, a lot of things happen and they are not worthy of pics, ie. electrical, plumbing, septic tank, etc.. that is all complete and now we got in the insulation. R38 in ceilings throughout building. on top of roof I have insulation board on outside of deck so that really helps with heat transfer from what I have seen so far. outside walls should be around r26. I insulated even between floors to reduce noise and I may make additional climate controlled space separate from the surrounding areas and its will be ready..
