Default 1969-1970 Camaro Chevelle Nova 442 NOS GM Manual Steering Box

NOS GM manual steering box. Dealer take-off when the car was new to switch over to power steering. It still has the original factory GM cosmoline coating.

The machined pad has a Julian date 3488 (which is December 13th, 1968). This is a 24:1 standard ratio and the box has 6.5 turns lock to lock. It has a Aluminum cover which GM started using for the 1969 model year. The input shaft is factory painted yellow on the end.

It turns freely, but after 50 years new grease should be added before using. Otherwise is very tight.

1969 Camaro (Except Z/28 or Special Steering).
1969 Chevelle, Malibu, + El Camino.
1969-1970 ChevyII Nova.
1970 Cutlass, F85, + 442 (Except Heavy Duty steering).

***********SOLD**********

Thanks, Sam
