Default Stinger hood and L88 air cleaner on a 68 z/28

Can someone tell me what issues I may run into to put the hood and air cleaner setup on my 68Z looking at this car as my target?

Like is the carb center way off due to small block, or whatever comes to mind.

I like the hood on this car except for the bow I see. Not even sure where to get a nice one.

NOR even that killer air cleaner that I have only seen on L88 vettes.

The journey begins. My car is a nickey sold car and the original owner hacked into the original hood to service a cross-ram before the 69 hood came to be. So my original hood is already toast, so figured why not put a stinger hood on a car that came from Nickey (original owner raced for them, and got him the car I have super cheap, so it is tied to the dealer from a standpoint it had to be brought to shows to show off speed parts).

Check out the link I posted on my 67 a few month's ago (lots of pics), I prefer the stinger style scoop with out the actual stinger part on early Camaro's.
And if you go back to some period pics you'll find some quite a few that ran this style back then . And even though I run a small block, I came up with a re pop L88 squirrel cage air cleaner that works great with no issues for next to no $

thanks! I love the look of your car!!!!!!
It should be at MCACN by the way in my opinion, I would love to see it in person over some of the other cars.

Is there a way to see how you did the hood underneath? Like when when you look at that gold nickey 'clone' facebook car I referenced, it shows the underneath, and air is coming from the back. Yours is obviously from the front. I can see why your car (and the little hoss) dont have the stinger, as it should be a little less forced air due to a smaller opening. Plus it looks unique and matches the little hoss which is neat.

The super shifter is a treat btw. My car had one in it (from Nickey days) but everyone is telling me no no no. The floor is already cut so no extra harm thinking about putting one back in, just now confused on why some say no (maybe because its not original or something). I like the way it looks after seeing your car.

Default Hood bow

Black69, the bow you refer to in the stinger hood is common on the early fiberglass stinger hoods. I have an early Harwood Stinger fiberglass hood that has the bow when installed on the car. I see no way to get it out of the hood,it’s made that way. If you notice in a lot of the vintage pictures of drag cars back in the day you’ll see that bow in the hoods.
