I am looking for the names/locations of the drag strips around Council Bluffs, Iowa and the area back around 1966 through 1970. I am doing some research on a car I own that was raced in that area. Your help is greatly appreciated.

You forgot KCIR and Mo-Kan. Crips, Garden City would have been 300+ miles and Great Bend would have only been about 100 miles closer!!!

Irvington Drag Strip at an old airport held races in the 60's which was a Omaha Suburb(Council Bluffs area on Nebraska side of the Missouri River). Cornhusker Drag Strip also ran from 1969 to 1973ish which was also an Omaha Suburb which is now Millard area. Scribner Drag Strip opened by the MVTA (Missouri Valley Timing Assoc.) in April 1980 on a old WWII airfild base and closed in Oct 2005. I raced at Scribner from 1989 to the last day it closed in '05. Lotsa fond memories of the place.
I have started a collection of Nebraska/Midwest Drag Cars and appreciate the old nostalgic cars from the midwest area. I have some contacts with one a chassis builder/racer from that era that if I can't help maybe he can. I PM'd you a message.

LOL...I didn't forget 'em, I just listed the ones in my NHRA book! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
KCIR woulda been AHRA, as well as Mo-Kan at the time, I believe...just east of Mo-Kan woulda been Ozark International (Springfield/Rogersville, MO, area), and then there was Mid-America in Wentzville, and of course Gateway further east.
