Also I didnt notice before but 2 of the ear have been welded. I also found another Olds main case and it too had 2 ears welded.. Those Olds machines must have some torque!!

Actually I think those broken ears occur more often from someone trying to "pull" the trans into position with the mounting bolts when the new clutch disc isn't aligned properly. <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/eek.gif
So technically it is the torque, but from some gorilla trying to torque it into place.

Yep -- there are those "gorillas" out there that think this installation procedure will "seriously" work!!

When my clutch exploded in my
Old 71 442 hardtop I had as a kid.........
I wish I still had that car.
