A February stamped block would have a VIN 9L52XXXX.

Maybe just the second digit in the VIN is messed up.

When the case has a CT it means it was sold as a complete counter transmission.

The 3955773 is longer by about 5/16". A tape hooked end to end measures 20 11/16"....
