So I am now all set up for towing my Cutlass!!!

I bought the 2014, 9900 lb GVWR, 24X8.5X7 Diamond Cargo enclosed car hauler trailer.

I have had it certified (didn’t need to, just wanted it serviced and ready to go) plated, insured, and I just need to pick up tie downs to use it.

I towed it three hours to get it home and the truck and trailer feels very stable. (Although the trailer was empty and I stayed off 400 series highways (like Interstates) I want to work my way up to top speed, fully loaded.

I am very excited and can’t wait for my first event!!!

To celebrate owning a tow vehicle I am signing up to attend the 2024 SCR Super Car Reunion and hope to see lots of Yenko.net people there!!!

Several people really supported me through this process and I hate to name names and miss people but Des, Van, Bruno, Dave, really had my best interests at heart!!! (And thanks to all that helped)

Trailer looks to be in nice condition. Any idea how many miles are on it ? I would be pulling the brake drums to inspect the bearings, shoes, magnetic puck, and a new grease seal, but that's just me... :dunno:

Agree 100% (I didn’t need to safety it but went all in)

I don’t know the mileage but my mechanic the safetied it said it low mileage, no wear on the drums and he packed the bearings, adjusted the drums, serviced it ready to go.

W31 Success!!!

I didn’t do any preparation to my Cutlass as I spent all my time focused on truck and trailer and all thinks hauling related.

My truck and trailer worked very well, and got tested big time as Empire Dragway is in a very hilly part of NY!!! On one hill OTW home my truck downshifted into first gear and was reving 4-5 grand for 4ish minutes, and of course followed by a 10% grade downhill right after, and every hill has a hard turn at the bottom!!!

Saturday was rained out but Sunday we got two time trial runs and then a quick 8 shootout (9 cars actually) also FAST were racing 9-10-11 second runs.

I was thrown off by a couple new things….. they use a Pro tree Vs a Sportsman tree…. My first reaction time was 0.8953 :-) I was so surprised, you stage and then all the lights flash and you are supposed to be racing…….. I was literally looking around to see WTF just happened :-) They also hose down the burnout box which makes a burnout easy (I still have yet to use the brakes for a burnout) but one time I didn’t burnout enough and spun off the line like I was on ice.

ET’s were 14.4, 14.7, 15.2, etc but I was so focused on towing that racing was very secondary.

I was so happy to tow my car to the track, race, and tow back home without issues!!!

Now I can fine tune things.

W31 Success!!!

Some guys on Team Chevelle posted pics of that event and I saw a Green Olds and thought it was yours !!
Congrats on having fun with everything...

On hills where the trans goes into first, even second, I'm assuming you already had your 4 ways on. I just lift the throttle enough to reduce the rpm to 3,500 and let the engine and trans rest a little. You're only going to lose another 5 mph and you're already crawling, so save the truck. The people on those roads are well accustomed to us pulling trailers and will figure out how to get around. And YES, don't ya love needing to brake most of the way down for those crazy turns after beating the crap out of the truck to get up ??

I haven’t been on Team Chevelle in a long time….. what is the thread named?

I was being as easy on the truck as possible, I had a back up plan of stopping and putting it in 4 low to get way more gear…. But didn’t need it.
