Re: Cars with Cragars
my first "Hot Rod" circa 1977, then my 2nd SS Chevelle (Maroon) circa 1982 are the only cars I have had with Cragars. I will try to find a better pic of the Maroon car. Had L60s on the back.

I worked 2 jobs that summer. I was 16. Bought a new 100 watt kick butt home amp/tuner stereo with a good turntable. The other part, bought that Chevelle. Dad was livid to say the least. Sent me off to Military School...I will never forgive my parents for that! Bought the Camaro after I graduated in 79. Maroon Chevelle in 81,IIR. After 2 big block Chevelles and a bb Camaro, I was pretty much hooked on 'Rat' motors by that time. ALso had a sb 69 Camaro (still have 2nd car in list below). |

My Chevelle was originally burnished brown with parchment interior, sold near Montreal (I'm from Quebec). She's now "dark cherry", a 1996 Impala SS color and the factory 307 has been replaced by a 396. http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/25...450351700o.jpg |

Dont know why I tought she was burnished brown from factory. Sold new in Berthierville, PQ. I just wanted to correct my error, haha. |
Re: Cars with Cragars

Re: Cars with Cragars
Looking at your over the top cool Nova, I can't help but think of a Springsteen song,
"Glory days well they'll pass you by Glory days in the wink of a young girl's eye Glory days, glory days..." Just thinking about the old pic and now, remembering those days. |
Re: Cars with Cragars
This car was raced a Monrovia 75-80 in MD By Harry Weatherholtz. The 396-375 was replaced with a 427 with two fours. They rigged up two fuel lines from the tank. I kept all the day two stuff on it like the sun tach box and Line locks. I also have a 69 Mach 1 428 SCJ that was raced by Lyn Douglas at the same track. yep the Glory days.

Re: Cars with Cragars
Arvid, Cragars look good on that Malibu, too. I read the MCR article with all the sets of wheels; reminds me of me! However......Cragar SS are my favorite and I think they look great on just about anything. The newer style "square spokes" aren't bad for those on a budget, but for me, the originals are hard to beat!

Re: Cars with Cragars
Winner winner chicken dinner Arvid......I too have been watching/reading the article.

Re: Cars with Cragars
Arvid, love your car. My first car in 1975 was faded red L79 with Cragars. 8 inch with Kelly Supercharger G 50'S on rear. That picture brings back memories and puts a smile on my face. Thanks for posting.

Re: Cars with Cragars
Vinnie, I'll call MacNeish and see what he says. He no longer owns it, but I think his memory is pretty good!

Re: Cars with Cragars
He sold it a Barret Jackson. Somewhere in the 260k range
