Great job and well deserved honors. I've been waiting and watching each day for updates on your current project. I enjoy looking at your work. You do a great job.
|
AWESOME Dave!!
It was nice seeing you and Kelly.... Rich |
Man, that car looked awesome close up. Great, great job!
|
Thanks guys! Great seeing you Rich. Woj, Grady, Mikey, and the whole Ohio crew! Nice to finally meet so many off this site! Shaun... gotta get a ride in that 427 SOHC Starliner and Sam, looking forward to seeing that Day 2 Woj Twin in person one day. Good luck with the remaining transformation!
Thank you too Freddie and Tracker1. Glad you liked the Bee in person and enjoy my threads. It was nice letting guys sit in the Bee from the site and let them look at the car up close. So much fun! Can't wait for next year! Cheers Dave |
The "B" was all that and a bag of chips, I love a one man restoration show.
Now waiting for the final thread....."Beating on the "B".....:naughty: Great job Dave and Kelly. Mike |
Followed this thread from day 1 Dave and I can truly say that pictures don't do this car justice! I've always been a big fan of the A12 Super Bee and I fantasize about owning one someday. I can honestly say that yours is one of the finest A12 Super Bees I've ever seen....sheer perfection and you can be proud that you restored it yourself! Was great to meet you at MCACN Dave and I envy the talent that you have restoring cars like this one. Don't think it's been asked yet so I'll ask: :Can-I-Have-It:

Congrats Dave! Your car was spectacular....and I don't usually use 4 syllable words because they hurt my head.
Great job!! Jim |

I questioned you several times as to how many people work at your shop, and finally the Mrs. confirmed there are no people other than you at your shop.............. I still can't believe it:-)
You are the resto-guru!! It was great to catch up at MCACN, hope all the new home planning goes well. Ryan |

Nice meeting you too, Randy. I'm glad you liked following along and were able to see the car in person!
Jim, can't thank you enough for the help on all the small details that sometimes are overlooked. And for you to use a four syllable word.... man....I musta dun goodly!:hmmm::biggthumpup: See Ryan?! Told ya!! The bugs in the paint, scratches in the chrome, leaks where leaks shouldn't leak from.... all me! Just hard to believe the show is over already!:dunno: WHAT Happened?? I blinked.... that's what! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Cheers Dave |
Dave and Kelly-It was good to see you again...and give me more material for next years promos (you guys are givers for sure! ;) )
The car looked great, too! Happy Thanksgiving!!! |

Wow! Kevin did such a great job on that video!! The actor he hired to play me was great!!:headbang:
Thanks for the compliments guys. It truly was an awesome experience. This car not only brought tears to Gary's kids' eyes, but it made Kelly and I a bunch of new friends along the way! All in all..... exactly what this hobby should do. On a side note, Kristen plays guitar and through powerful negotiation on behalf of my lovely wife Kelly's part, the Bee guitar made by one of this year's featured artists, went home with her after the show. Now, everytime Kristen picks that guitar up dad is right there next to her! See you all in 8 months!!:cool2: Cheers Dave & Kelly |
it was an awesome video Dave! Cant wait to meet you guys nov!
|
Well done! Where is car now?
|
I shared that video with about a hundred people which is pretty impressive, since I only know about seven.
The car is in the hands of a new owner in California and from my understanding, will be back at MCACN next year for a mini 50th Anniversary for the A12 reunion. Maybe I can get another done by then! Mmmmmm....probably not. Looking forward to meeting you too Frank! Cheers:beers: Dave |
Great video. So, what are your next projects Dave? Saw the truck, and know Bullet, but that's almost done so I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering what's next...
|
Hey Mark!
Yes, I think I may be done with Bullitt this month, or very close to it. And then what's next you ask? Hmmmm.:hmmm:... I'm concocting a plan to obtain a car I've been after ever since the owner of this car told me he bought it. Well... since we're on the thread of the Beater Bee, the car in question is currently owned by the previous owner to me of the Beater Bee! I cannot reveal details yet as my plan is in full force right now to include: 1. Subliminal e-mailings 2. SUPERliminal e-mailings 3. Random text messages at odd hours 4. Drive-by staredowns 5. Hiding behind bushes then jumping out screaming "BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY!!!":eek: So I'm hoping this plan of attack will work sometime this year. It'll be worth it since there will be another thread to follow on the footsteps of the Beater Bee for all to roll their eyes at! Unless of course I get committed.... Meanwhile, it may get quiet with me for a little while since we're starting to build the new house/ shop/stables here in a few months. Hmmm...I could update that thread in between car builds? Naahh. But fear not! Once a new build begins they'll be Hi-Def videos, perfectly staged photos, and possible Celebrity guest appearances! :rolleyes2::thumbsdown: Cheers Dave |
Oooooh, the suspense.
The stress of the delay may add a few gray hairs and shorten my lifespan a little, but I, for one (and I am sure there are many on here who agree), will wait with baited breath (not sure what that means) on word of your next project. And, based on the little info you gave away in the video regarding the owner of the Bee before you, it'll be another Mopar, which is cool with me. Good luck with the new house and shop, and I guess I'll have to get out wrenching on my Camaro to pass the time until the next thread starts. Cheers Dave! |
Very kind words, Mark.:worship: Who knows? Maybe someone will hire me to be their personal auto restorer, subsidize my 401k, and pay me a salary equal to the GNP of an emerging Third World territory and I can bag this whole flying thing and have a new thread start each year for the foreseeable future on a different car each time??? Man...I’ve said some stupid things but that’s even pretty stupid for me!:hmmm::thumbsdown::p
Cheers:beers: Dave |
----Dave,,, As a stopgap I'm sure everyone would be ready for a house/super-duper garage build thread. Just sayin! That way you don't loose your MOJO!!!! Just thinking of the stability of the rest of course, as we seem to be addicted to your builds........Bill S

Your writing style is highly entertaining and enjoyable - don't leave us with nothing to follow. ;)
|
Thanks Guys! Very nice comments which are greatly appreciated!:biggthumpup: Fear not! I’m sure I’ll come up with more enlightening, educational, and instructional (or is that institutional?:hmmm:) posts until the next car thread starts when the Mustang wraps up. Hmmm...maybe an official House Build thread IS in order here? Update to follow!
A big part of Bee’s journey, restoration, and overall entertaining story comes from this site and the goofiness of the thread. I thank you guys for enjoying my writing, sense of humor, and work. But if you have to give credit to anyone for this, it’s Woj. He’s the one that introduced me to the site. So in reality, this is all his fault! Cheers:beers: Dave |

I may have to find a pretty poor emerging 3rd world country but i need to get this done!
With the quality of your work, you wouldnt have trouble finding customers |
That's quite a project right there! Some good news trickled in over the weekend. The new owner of the Bee just took Best of Show at the West Coast Mopar Spring Fling!!! Several guys recognized the car from MCACN and of course, this thread. Waiting on a pic of the award with the car to post up!! Very exiting considering there were more than 500+ cars there!!:grin::cool2:
Another chapter begins for the second life of The Beater Bee!! :3gears: It will return to MCACN in 2019 for the 50th Anniversary of the A12 cars too and by then I'm hoping to have the next Epicable Saga build thread car in the Barn Find section waiting on deck! Pics to follow..... Cheers Dave |
