Yes, the cowl hood does look good. I have a 3 1/2 inch cowl hood on my car now, but I would want to use the shorter 1 5/8 hood with the tunnel ram so that more of the carburetors would show, or at least the velocity stacks would show.

Yeah, that higher cowl hood probably wouldn't let the velocity stacks be seen as much. Even my shorter cowl hood doesn't show my V-stacks very much when I have them on it.

The only thing I've been able to fond in a fiberglass short cowl hood is a 2 inch Harwood. All of the others are 3 1/2 or more.

Why not a fiberglass flat hood to show off the Tunnel Ram?
|
That's not a bad idea. I'll see if I can find a bolt on flat hood.
|
X2 flat hood steel or fiberglass.
The flat hood provides a cleaner line and showcases the carbs and air cleaners. |
Unlimited makes a flat bolt on fiberglass hood. I have a Unlimited hood on my car now, but shipping it from California is expensive. I was hoping that I could find a dealer somewhere closer, but I haven't found anything yet. Most of the flat hoods are lift off, but I want to bolt it to the hinges. There is no hurry on this, so I'll keep on looking. Right now I'm still looking for a 1850-1 with a date close to 0817 to match the one that I already have.

Check out Tamraz's on ebay. They have a ton of options for hoods for you car. And Glasstek build an ton of fiberglass hoods for them.

We obviously like the flat hood look as well, really allows the TR and Holley's to show...
|
Yes Marlin, I've looked at your car several times. I think you have the same Offy TR that I have, so mine is going to look a lot like that. Do you have any problems opening and closing the hood with the velocity stacks on? I was wondering how large the hole would have to be to clear the carbs and stacks.
