I used carbags for years with no problems until I put a car with newer laquer in it. I know not smart, anyhow there was definetly shrinkage from the paint not being able to breathe. I have a brand new one in size small if anyone wants it I will sell it for 2/3 list price plus shipping. I like the air chamber because you can still see the car, anyone use that product?

The car bag is ideal if you don't have a climate controlled enviroment. When there are extreme temperature changes (like early spring in the northeast) two day 20 degrees and then 60 degrees your car will normally sweat due to temp diff between car and ambient temp. The car bag acts as a buffer, it keeps the air inside the bag very close to the car temp. In addition the dessicants which are provided help eliminate moisture inside the bag. I have had excellents results 8 years and counting.

The clear capsule/bubble look great, but I don't believe it would work as well in enviroments with extreme temperature changes for the reasons described above.

A word of warning if you have any gas seepage from fuel line and such, the odor will be overwhelming when you open the bag.

I have had the car capsule. It is a great product but I didn't enjoy the process of installing the top portion.

Check this out:

Seems like a great product!!

I have the car capsule too. Like the fact it has the fan which not only keeps the air moving it messes with the rats instict and they elect not to chew through the bag and dine on your wiring harness. Also the balloon effect acts as a buffer and is great if you live in earthquake country. You can toss a sledge hammer at it and i won't get near the car

Steve,
Yes, they caution about that on their web site, saying not to be smoking when you open the bag. I wouldn't be surprised if a vented gas cap would be enough to let fumes build up.

I "should" receive mine by this weekend, so I've done a thorough house-cleaning in there in preparation. I emptied my home-made mouse trap (see long lost thread) and there must have been over 30 of them in there! I have to glue more peanuts on the bottle. Some of the little pests were able to balance on it long enough to eat about half of them!

Peanuts in a bottle? Balancing mice?

I have to see this homemade mouse trap! How does it work?

I’m glad I have no mice!

Paceme is correct! Make sure your car does not leak fuel or oil!

The bag itself has a pungent odor itself. My supplier told me there is a moisture resistant chemical woven into the material. Has kind of a creosote smell to it. This prevents the permeation of moisture.

Yes a bit of overkill but i'm Anal along with an Ass and narcisistic!

It's an old thread. Do a search on "mouse trap" and I'm sure you'll find it.
