Re: 30 Years Later
I don't have the original story in front of me, but I'm guessing both cars had stock gears, which would mean the Buick had 3.64s (doubt it had 3.42s) and the GTX had 3.54s or 4.10s.

Re: 30 Years Later
Yea, not really. The Buick owner raced, the GTX owner never had. The Buick had some mods, the GTX was stock with slicks. It was not scientific. Just started with someone spouting off about how great HEMIS were and could not be beat. Someone took up the offer to race any time anywhere. The Buick owner still has his car, the GTX owner sold his years ago.

Re: 30 Years Later
That Hemi with 2x4s needs to be set up right. It's amazing how much power they lose without being set up for the race. The Buick was clearly race ready.

This is not true, and if you read the story I posted, you'll see. |
Re: 30 Years Later
Case in point, look how long it took the S/S and A/FX guys to get the Hemi's running quicker than their Stage III motors in 64.

Re: 30 Years Later
They are letting 30 year-old lies cloud their judgment, if not their biases.
