Re: moss green Eleanor

Eleanor was a yellow 71 Mustang used in the original Gone in 60 Seconds released in 1974. The 2000 remake changed this to a 67 fastback that vaguely resembled a Shelby. My guess is that there was never any particular significance attached to the name, but since Halicki is dead, we can't ask. It had nothing to do with FoMoCo or Shelby, neither of which had any sort of known relationship with Halicki's self-funded movie.

Love the names on the Hot list, that was a GREAT movie (car wise) . The car chases were real and the stunt work was incredible.....wish a lot more of todays movies were like it.

I'm missing the connection between the &quot;Green Hornet&quot; theme and the Eleanor theme. My Ford exposure is very limited.

</div></div>i had a 87 Porsche 928 delivered to my house and the silver Shelby was in front of my car. He took it out of the trailer...and what a sound!

None of the pictured examples were ever offered by Shelby to the public. The 1968 Green Hornet is a one-off car that had an experimental fuel injection system installed. The other cars are &quot;Eleanor&quot; clones and the Eleanor car was built specifically for the movie which came out well after the last Shelby was built in 1969.

Not to start a war or anything but, in the nearly eighties when I purchased my 67-68 Shelby GT 500 &quot;Eleanor&quot;, I named it &quot;Rigby&quot; for the reason that on the title and the documents it stated &quot;Eleanor&quot;, not to mention a chicken farmer new I owned the car. And also, if you look somewhere, you will find that Carroll actually went to court to sue the writers or makers of the movie &quot;Gone In Sixty Seconds&quot; for the writers to the name &quot;Shelby Eleanor&quot;
