No love w/ the pics but this old thread has more info on the Vega... https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=71379 Interesting is D. Libby's mention of 1x only 400 Harrell Vega built also note James Zeleny's name as he's the Harrell employee in the Car Craft article also I believe the guy w/ his hand on the balancer in the pic you first posted. :beers: ~ Pete . |

Here are some photos of the Vega that I have. I am not sure if they are the missing ones from the previous referenced article. I honestly don't remember where I saved them from. I wish I knew where this Vega is now.
Thanks, Marty On a separate note: This is post # "427" for me. |
Great Pictures

Thanks for sharing the photos! Looks to be the same car based on the license plate. Would love to find that car as well.

There is a good chance that this car got cut up for drag racing a long time ago like so many others did, but it would be really cool if it did still exist. From the pictures above it looks like it moved from a street car into a drag car over the years.

That's a thermoquad on that little tire fryer! I can't remember too many guys running that carb on a chevy.

Awesome pics Hawkeye and thanks for adding them here! Note the chin spoiler first appears in the wheels up shot then black rocker panels w/ pro stock hood and serious rubber...latest known evolution?:hmmm: Such a cool car, hope it still exists and is someday recognized! :beers: ~ Pete . |
Brings back great Memories. My buddy and I would street race and trash on his 1973 Vega with a 350. We went through rear ends and trannys....but never ever lost a street race!
The back tail panel read...."Suicide is Painless" Dan |
