I may have something you can use for a do-it-yourself battery project: It's an original display (empty) Delco Freedom battery case. Perfect candidate to open the bottom and have a small AGM battery put inside it. These were used from 74 to 77 IIRC.

I originaly got it for Enrico's 73 but it turned out to be a year too new for it.

Nice SD Bruce, congratulations! Amazing performers for 1974, I had a twin to it years ago but it wasn't near that nice.

Steve, I'm not sure about the production dates for the original Delco Freedom batteries but from from what I can tell the Delco Freedom II batteries were only used from late 1980 through 1982 production so it wouldn't be correct for Bruce's SD. I'd love to have one for my Mom's 81 Z28 though so if you want to get rid of it let me know or send me a PM.

took the 1974 SD for a ride this morning. Running good, but I've still gotta get all of the engine vacuum lines hooked up correctly (most are plugged for now). Does anyone know if there is a schematic or good pictures of the lines connected with the air cleaner off?

Appreciate the help :-)

Thanks Lee!

Very nice. I also noticed that it may have air shocks on the rear since the picture of the tank appears to show the fill valve. A lot of us did that in the 70's and 80's.
