Hi Rick, welcome. It’s been a few years! Here’s a pic of me taking the 3 out for a test drive prior to me driving to the Mansfield Teague meet. Dick was very trusting as I always was able to work the car at my parents house. I remember the morning I was leaving, I went to pick the car up at his house and the radiator developed a leak from one of the tanks. I was ready to leave the car but Dick was not concerned. He mixed up a batch of JB Weld and I was on my way in a half hour.

I think the pictures that I posted up was from the Mansfield Meet .

Here is one I seen in the 80s at a apple cider stand in Michigan. He said his dad help design it.

It was probably Dick Teague's son.
Here is a little fun fact about Dick Teague.. He was a cross-dresser as a child. LOL!

Teague's mother worked in the motion picture industry during the silent movie era.[3] At five years of age Teague appeared in five episodes of Our Gang, playing the role of Dixie Duval, a girl.[4] When he was six, he was seriously injured in a car accident near Pasadena, California, which was caused by a drunk driver. He lost several teeth, suffered a broken jaw, as well as sight in his right eye (leaving him without depth perception or stereoscopic vision), while his mother was left an invalid.[3][5] A year later his father was killed in another automobile accident, also caused by a drunk driver.[6]

While attending grade school in Los Angeles during the 1930s, Teague built model airplanes before turning to hot rods, since his schoolmates included Ed Iskendarian (who became a drag racer), and land speed racer Stuart Hilborn, as well as other car enthusiasts.[5][7] He participated in time trials on a dry lake northeast of Los Angeles and was fond of saying that he "had a little gasoline in his blood."[5]

Teague was exempt from service in the armed forces during World War II because of his visual impairment.[4] After graduating from Susan Miller Dorsey High School in 1942, he worked as an aircraft technical illustrator for Northrop Corporation.[5] His boss, Paul Browne, was a former designer at General Motors who suggested that Teague take night classes at the ArtCenter College of Design.

If I had to take a guess, the cider mill where the pic was taken is in Franklin Village which would have been less than 5 minutes from his house.

Always been fascinated by the story surrounding this. Hard to imagine, much less believe that a car company as small and conservative as AMC would attempt to delve into the exotic automobile market. Truly, a mind boggler! The differences in the few cars is subtle, yet significant. The AMX2 on the pole in Ephrata, PA is a little known story around these parts, and is sometimes discussed by myself and a few cronies as I attend vehicle auctions in Lancaster and Manheim weekly.

AMC was actually a huge world wide Corp not near as big as ford or gm but at times the same size as chrysler. AMC is full of would have, should have and could have's..

I will post up some pictures of the AMX/2 when I find them. I know that I put them in place where I would't loose them. Guess that plan didn't work.

I found them. This is the AMX/2 which was just a fiberglass roller with a 6 cyl oil pan mounted to the bottom of it. The car is still around somewhere. Last I heard a Doctor owned it.
