Gas stations changes brands all the time. It's not like they could buy new pumps each time. Quick cheap paint job (brush or roller) & some decals & done. Sunoco for sure on that pump. Keep up the good work. The difference between doing a pump & a car is you get to see the end results in about 90 days for a pump :)

Wayne 511's were not exclusive to Sunoco, they were the majority though.
Kerr-McGee brand and other gas brands have been found pumping through a Wayne 511 Blender. |

I found a vintage set of Sears Metal Ball casters in Dad's garage and figured a way to adapt them to the gas pump base existing holes. I sourced alum round stock and machined adapters to allow the stems to be capture held in place with the Pump hovering around a 1/8" above the ground. This keeps the pump stable yet allows for controlled movement on a very flat concrete garage floor for maintenance and cleaning purposes. The holes are to close to the side so the casters are not able to swivel the full 360 but nonetheless it still works nice. Fun little project that put Dad's good Old (Vintage) Craftsman (Atlas) Lathe to use.

Now that’s cool. Nice work! I want to detail up the exterior of my shop like an old service station which will include a large awning, air hose reel, and a pump. There’s a guy down the street from me that has a few of the older pumps like yours in his yard. I think they’re just homes for cars right now.
Might have to wander down there and see about purchasing one. Or I might just try and make a replica! Looking good! Cheers Dave |
