Good luck with it. Just get it running and stopping well, and just drive it for now.

Congrats on the purchase. Looks like a decent price (for a change).

Congrats!! Cool car. I love my 67 GTO convertible (but mine’s got the oddball 3-sp manual).

I bought this car. I just received it today from the transport company. It needs a ton of work but a 67 GTO convertible 4 speed is a dream car for me. Hoping to get it driving this year if possible. Big project and I hope im up to the task :-)

I take it, you aren't into factory original ..LOL With that, I would consider just buying a new fuel tank, the one made in Canada, and any fuel lines it needs to provide fresh fuel. Then go thru the brakes thoroughly and, as others have said, just drive it for now. Enjoy all the gawkers at the car shows, as that interior is going to draw a crowd.

Leave the rust issues until you are ready for a BIG project.
There are plenty of people here to help and advise on having original components rebuilt, if that is a desire, or what the best replacement parts are.

Enjoy your new toy !!

Too Many Projects, you hit the nail on the head! I have already placed an order for a fuel tank, fuel line and fuel pump. Brakes will be next and the car has power disc brakes up front. It also needs a shifter handle and probably a million other things. I'm enjoying documenting everything so far. The real work will start soon.
Thanks
Mike

Factory disc brakes? If so, pretty cool.

Can't get a clear view of them thru the spokes, but it does look like they may be the 4 piston calipers.
