How the heck did you convince a surfer girl to move to boring, central Iowa...;)

To hear Jani tell it her world came to an end at age 18 when her family moved home to NE IA. She still loves old Ford woody surfer wagons.

Ha, you never hear “split windows” called Fastbacks, but that’s what they were called back then.

Pete, thanks for posting that neat classified ad.

Speaking of woody surfer wagons …..

I’m sure Brian Wilson would appreciate all the woody wagons on the Santa Cruz pier.

And I’m pretty sure Jani would dig this highly patina 1940 Ford woody surfer wagon.

Brian, thanks for the tunes and memories. His music-vision was amazing. RIP.

Funny, I just found out that a friend of mine who was a music composer did the arrangement for the song Caroline, No for the Beach Boys. His wife called me yesterday to tell me. She just found the hand written score 2 weeks ago. I had no idea.

Just showed Jani these pix, boy did they stir up memories for her! Said in the mid-late '60s woodies like this were everywhere on the beach at Newport and Laguna.

She also related memories of taking the bus to see The Beach Boys at De Anza Theater in Riverside in 1965.

Thanks for posting Chris!! :beers:
