Re: For Sale: 1969 RA V GTO!!!
Mac, this is a "Forum". That means some guys like to offer more than an opinion, some guys like to talk about cars, and some guys just have too much time on their hands. Why anyone would complain about bringing the sale to our attention is a mystery to me. but maybe there aren't any car shows that need judges right now.
Keep up the contributions, I enjoy your input, and I'm sure that many others do too, but they just never post. |

Mac,
I agree with Andy...most of the people here are really cool...and TOTALLY into cars. Some of the people here are anal, but even most of those people are good hearted and good natured. Life is too short not to have a good time while you're here! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif Sometimes there's https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif posted, but just ignore it..it'll go away. I enjoy this website tremendously, and have made quite a few friends here. Enjoy your day, Mac! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |
Re: For Sale: 1969 RA V GTO: SOLD
Well, Milt Schornack sold the '69 RA V prototype to a really nice fellow named Walt Hollifield from Charlotte. Walt races a pure stock '68 Firebird 400 and was at last weekend's Pontiacs in the Park event at Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg, VA.
Milt got more than his eBay asking price (although he would not divulge actual numbers) plus he brought home a '67 GTO with a 400/auto. It needs a little work, but I think Milt's happy about the deal. Walt told me, "I now have every version of Ram Air. From one to five." More importantly, he paid for a few buckets of KFC (original and extra crispy!). https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif By the way, this years Pontiacs in the Park was HUGE and a TON of fun! Arnie Beswick was there with his new Tameless Tiger II, Dan Sweeney brought his awesome Grand Am which ran in the high 6-second range! Milt did a Royal Bobcat seminar and I didn't have to speak about the book! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif Also, thanks to you guys who supported me after I was attacked by the anal-retentive 'tards! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif I know it's all in good fun, but man, the private messages were RUDE and full of CAPS and exclamation points!!!!!!! Look: I can write those too, you 'tards!!!!!!!!!!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif Mac https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

Re: For Sale: 1969 RA V GTO!!!
I'm going to stir up the pot here a little....as far as I know there never was a Ram air V production engine installed in the factory...everything I read says that RAV were engine parts that were installed at the dealer....such as rods,crank......RAIV heads......bigger cam........maybe I'm wrong here...i also heard that a RAV crate engine was available back in the day assembled by the dealers......anyone know the exact story..

Re: For Sale: 1969 RA V GTO!!!
been covered a lot.The factory made at least 100 RA V 400 crate motors. There were 25 303 SCCA crate engines built to get the cars leagal. The 25 303 engines were brokeup in parts and given to diff racers. There were also lots of over the counter parts avail. The hardest parts to find are the blocks, carbs, exhaust manifilds and dist. There were also develpomental parts like 2-4 intakes,X ram intakes, tach drive dist,4in and 4.21 stroke 3in main cranks.
