A few cars that I wondered about were featured in some old Car Craft magazines back in the late '70's early '80's. They were a 1969 Camaro RS Z28 that had a big block and a Lenco in it. The article told the tale of an arranged big dollar street race between this Camaro owned by Scott Brown? and a 1971 Hemi Challenger, also Lenco equipped, which was owned by someone named Lisk? In the article I don't think the race ever took place but, for their time, they were two bad ass street cars and I always whatever happened to these two cars.

It was to have been a 3 car shoot out.

Scott's 30 over 454 Camaro, Steve's Hemi Challenger and Joe's 500 CI built Gapp & Roush engine Mustang Peterson Publishing called the shoot out off for legal reasons.

The Camaro may still be in the Chicago area.

I live in the Atlantic City, NJ area and I saw Joe's Gapp & Roush Mustang loaclly. The Boss 429 style motor was long gone, replaced by another big block Ford engine. The car was no longer silver and had some other hood on it. The car was at the AC auto auction and was purchased locally. I haven't seen the car in a few years.

I remember reading that article when I was a kid!! I think I was around 14 or 15 and it was one of my first subscriptions. I may still have the magazine buried in the attic somewhere!! Damn, that brings back some memories. LOL.

Hey Frank, if you want to talk about old missing, muscle cars, you should mention that red Z-16 you had.

i thought this would be a cool idea. if not it will fade into oblibion. a thread where we can chat about cars that you can use the phrase "what ever happened to"? local town boulavard bruisers or all out factory backed racecars, its all open for discussion.
what ever happened to Al Ekstrand's 1964 Factory Lightweight %2 Race Hemi Plymouth? Dodge and Plymouth each produced 2 cars (dodge had "dodge boys, ramchargers" plymouth had "melrose missle IV" and "the lawman"). the other 3 lightweight 2%ers are accounted for. still missing Ekstrands plymouth?

[/ QUOTE ] https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gifI know the owner of both of the Dodge 2% cars, I thought he told me that both the Plymouths were, as he puts it "they no longer exist" but I maybe wrong. the Lawman car was sold by eckstrand to Joe Aed, in late 64, there's a pic of it when Aed had it in the book "Super Stock" by larry Davis on pg 131, don't know what happened with it after that?

Frank, I think that car has been spread out over 3 different townships.........truely sad for a car that still had plenty of eyeball left. No reason to take it apart.

Back in the late 70's and early 80's in the Philly area I remember a red '66 or'67 Ford Fairlane GT running around town. I think the guy worked at the Arco gas station in Southampton because that's where I always remember seeing the car in the bays. Damn that thing was loud and it sure seemed to run like a raped ape but what did I know at the time. I didn't have my drivers license yet but that car sure was a looker.

Re: Lost or missing Musclecars

It's not just race cars that have disappeared. Back in '68 I had an early '68 Ram Air Firebird. One of less than 100 built so I understand. I last saw the car in the fall of '69 and it had been painted silver from the original off white. I also had a '66 396 4 speed Beaumont Sport Deluxe. It has disappeared as well. They were the types of cars that might have been looked after and survivied. I'm sure others have the same stories.
