A little bit of a mystery that is still coming out of the shadows, this is the only 1970 Hurst/Olds black car. There are just a handful of pictures of the car when new. Unfortunately it was abandoned on a property after a serious accident. Thankfully the original, custom Hurst spoiler is still in place, but in rough condition.

A 1969 Shelby Mustang GT500 is normally nothing to sneeze at. But this one is even more rare as it was the pilot car for the entire 1969 Shelby GT500 lineup!

This 1969 Dodge Super Bee on paper doesn't look like anything special, but when you notice the paint code for the car is 999, it gets interesting. For Mopars with a 999 paint code, it means special paint. This one was specially ordered with pink paint before Mopar released the FM3 paint on production cars in 1970

This 1963 Pontiac Parisienne, which isn't anything super special until you see it came from Canada, and was packing a dual quad Chevrolet 409 and a 4-speed manual transmission under the hood. You could special order some crazy stuff north of the border.

And yet again, I didn't meet you. I'm sure there were many that I walked by on the main floor and if members walked thru the Vintage Cert area I wouldn't know who you were without others telling me. I did spend about 90% of the 3 days right there.

And Lee, where you at the show ??

No - I don't get on airplanes anymore. Nor drive more than 30 miles roundtrip.

big gear head 11-20-2023 01:58 PM

Mitch I saw you once from a distance, but when we went looking for you I couldn't find you. We went through vintage certification looking, but you weren't there.

I ran off with Lloyd around noon, to grab some lunch and gather my treasures from the swap meet, if you were there then. Later in the afternoon, I did wander a bit to see the show. Sorry I wasn't around around, Freddie.
I was trying to keep watch for you too, but MAN, Saturday was packed !!!

markinnaples 11-20-2023 02:38 PM

Oops! was on a facebook page with a few others so I just assumed it was from yesterdays show. I will remove it.

Another great show I went Saturday with one of my sons.

The cars were quite diverse, nice job organizers, something for everybody.

It was cool to a see a 428 / 4 speed manual 1969? Grand Prix.

Jim - a HUGE congrats on not only going through the Legends judging, but also receiving the Brothers Collection Pick award! I cannot express how significant that pick award is...out of the hundreds of phenomenal cars at the show, Charley picked yours. Again, congratulations and well deserved.

Any pics of that GP?

Pro Stock John 11-20-2023 11:42 PM

Sorry I didn't take any. There were 3 69-70 Grand Prix's, one was a Hurst.

Just an incredible show, incredible people, incredible everything! As posted earlier, next year I’m only renting a space to put a chair in so I can have a sign that says, “If you’re in a Yenko.net, please say hi!”:scholar:

So much freaking fun!!!

Cheers
Dave

Every time I saw Mitch in the Certification area Steve and the crew were working him like a rented mule...

Thanks for the support guys. I made back to Utah at 11pm Monday with car in tow! To think I was in Chicago inside the show Sunday. Talk about driving.

Great to see a lot of you at the show. Every year it seems to get better & better :-)

My car got kinda tucked in behind the Camaro Central booth - so I may have missed some of you. Scored 990/1,000 though - so I’m a happy camper.
