Re: Least Favorite Color?
I'm not a big fan of 1968 Palomino Ivory or Black cars. But it's like anything else..the color of a car is affected by so many variables, interior/top color, body style, lighting at the time, incorrect shades, and on and on. My favorite color is 68 Island Teal, but even with that color there are certain models and interior/top colors I would never use that color with.

Don't have one... There isn't a color out there I wouldn't own. I've got a mosport green Vette, had a fathom green/light green '69Z, a '70 gold/saddle Camaro and even a pewter silver SS Nova. Yellow..
There's exceptions but yellow cars seem more often to be the butchered S'boxes when you get up close than other colors.. One exception is I've always liked 'Vettes in Warbonnet Yellow which is really more a gold color!. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif ~ Pete |

Re: Least Favorite Color?
I don't really have a least favorite color for muscle cars. Like others have said, the interior color, vinyl top color, stripe color, etc. can set off nicely any exterior color. I guess I would have to say since I am such a stickler for originality in muscle cars, any muscle car painted any color other than it's original factory color would be my least favorite.

Just personal preference. I really like the colors many here have said they hate--the browns, greens & golds. At the end of the day, I'm not sure why we're doing this poll anyways. Everyone knows that the top selling cars are reds, oranges, black & blue. Er, I think.... Maybe that's why we're doing this... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif |

Butternut Yellow https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif I also have issues when I see a car with a great color like Lemans Blue on the TT and its painted some other color, especially a modern color?? I've seen a lot of Garnet Reds that missed the mark and were off a few shades.

Re: Least Favorite Color?
least favorite...chrome yellow , bright red , any flip flop color change paint, and now unfortunately any sunset orange, used to be my favorite, now every seccond car is sunset orange or some variation of it.
I'm really having a a hard time deciding on the color for my 67 camaro... in fact my project is pretty much stalled because I can't decide a color. I'm building a stripper dog dish big block 4 speed car. The car was originally gold on gold. I've changed the interior to black, and the colors I was tossing around are https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif white, warbonnet yellow(gold),royal plum, deepwater blue,or nantucket blue. |
Re: Least Favorite Color?
It really depends on the car. Butternut Yellow looks great on a 1969 SS396 Chevelle (as the photo above obviously shows), just not a preferred color for me. I've seen a few 65 GTO's in a similar color, and they don't look very good in my opinion.
I'm actually more surprised by the dislike for red! I actually prefer a dark red, or burgundy, over a bright red, but again, if it was on a 68 GTO, with hideaways, just like the 1968 Motor Trend Car Of The Year, I'll take it! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif |

Re: Least Favorite Color?
[ QUOTE ]
Well, I don't think there's a color I dislike, but over the years I have heard more people say they really dislike bright yellow. For some reason, old Musclecars, in the hands of guys that don't care about originality, seem to end up day-glow yellow, usually with black stripes or black top. As for factory colors, Butternut Yellow is not one of my favorites. It's not ugly by any means, just not a fan of it on a Musclecar. And Sublime...yes....http://www.smilieshq.com/smilies/sick0025.gif [/ QUOTE ] Monarch Yellow http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...EWAX%3AIT#v4-38 Like some have already mentioned vinyl roof/int and stripe color can really affect the look regardless of paint color-either for the better or worse. I love this car, but if it only had either a black roof or black interior you wouldn't need sunglasses to look at it. |

also i will never buy a white car. i think the people that don't like black just don't want to clean and maintain the dust that shows on the car but its worth it to me, all my cars are black. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |

Re: Least Favorite Color?
[ QUOTE ]
I'd like to hear some other people's opinion's of what their LEAST favorite colors are on their Musclecars? I mean what color would be the deal-breaker for you even if it was your favorite Make/Model?! It's a tough decision these days because with modern paints and techniques, even colors that weren't very popular can look spectacular. I think Burnished Brown is a great example of this. Even when new in 1969 a Burnished Brown Camaro or Chevelle didn't cause a lot of excitement, but the last few Brown 1969 cars I seen at MCACN or the old Vettefest just looked absolutely beautiful. Anyway, the color that just makes me nauseous, almost no matter what's it's on, is that Chrysler Sublime Green. I've always just hated that color! [/ QUOTE ]HMMMM, trick question. And I'm in agreement on the browns (same w/green). Hated em then, like em now. The 70 Chevelle had a really nice brown that seemed to have a touch of green(?) in it. Looked rich w/blk stripes. There's also a lot of colors I used to like, but by popularity have been over-used. Least favorite? The really light/pale golds probably. On the other side of that coin, I'm really digging Muscle Cars that are white, especially with the ones with lots of accents. Really looks elegant to me (and not over used) |

Re: Least Favorite Color?
I guess it all depends on how the car is trimmed, not to mention what the car is.
If my car had black stripes, I wouldn't like it as much. Plus, some whites are better than others. |
