Just perfect! I remember so many Chevelles sitting tall like that back in the early 1980s. Everyone would stick BBC A/C springs in the front (sometimes with spacers), and wagon springs in the rear with air shocks to lift the car a few inches on all four corners. Kind of funny that everyone wants "lowering springs" these days. Jacking up an A-body suspension like that didn't so much for the already-poor camber curve, but it sure looked cool. |
Re: Just Dam
Marlin you are correct its Maple Grove. Look at the front license plate Reading High Performance. The late Bob Evelands speed shop. Yhat car looks familiar berks county area.

It appears identical to what I had bought new at Doc Stewart Chev in Clovis NM. The one I had was a 4 speed and included a white stripe package on the lower side body work, also it had add-on under dash A/C. Traded it for a station wagon just before returning to Vietnam in late 67'. TAZ |
Re: Just Dam
Hey TAZ, I doubt it was the same car, although it was rust free and may have come from the West. I got it fairly close to were I was raised on the East side of Cincy. It had those Sun 2 5/8 all around the column (4 or 5). Had to sell something when I got married in '82. The 2 Camaros I kept were very original and the Chevelle was not so much, but it looked the nicest, so it brought the most. Sure miss it though. Love 67 chevelles and 69 Camaros. By the way, both cars are 4 speed cars. I think I have a recent pic of the Chevelle I will dig up. Sold it to a close friend who kept it all these years. It is Marina Blue now and hot rodded.

Re: Just Dam

Re: Just Dam
Agree with you -- I miss the 67' also. But I had to do what I had to do -- dropped my wife and baby off in Wisconsin before heading back across the pond. Did not what to leave the 67' in the hands of my younger brother -- probably would not have turned out good.
That blue SS looks pretty damn nice!! Taz |
Re: Just Dam
1970 Nova. Friend of my fathers car, circa 1975. Had a LT1, bench seat 4-speed, 3.73. Pie crust slicks on black rallys. Love the look, same paint design on the trunk. Always wanted to build a clone of this car!

Re: Just Dam
Not that I can see. We've actually had this conversation many years ago, I don't believe it's that car. Everybody referred to this car as "the yenko", but I've never seen any indication of it, other than the driveline combo.

Re: Just Dam
Ok, just covering my bases! Looks like body side molding and a custom rear panel as well as a NOVA emblem on the trunk lid - likely not the car I was hoping for.

Re: Just Dam
Wow..... I parted out a 68 Nova with a confederate flag painted onto the diff cover. It was a Georgia car.
