Thank you bruce for your help!

That's pretty wild Eddie. Never seen aftermarket or period air added to a Z/28 or within the trunk of any muscle car for that matter. Great find on the car and nice work on the restoration and lacquer paint work. Hope to see it someday.

enio45 06-18-2017 02:00 PM

Thank you - and who said Z/28's never had AC!!

thank god - the package tray top metal had the big hole cut into it and 2 small holes in the trunk is all that was damaged to the car. I replaced the package tray with orig GM pieces....holes in the trunk, around half dollar size were easy fixes.

I think I would have restored the a/c components and reinstalled it.. :naughty:

enio45 06-18-2017 02:21 PM

I did give that serious thought - but i did not have any info if it was some dealer installed new or sometime installed later by some ac shop...the purist in me took over!

Better get ahold of JK at HMM. This will be of interest to them and their subscribers!

No problem Eddie!:beers:

That a/c is a hoot.....reminiscent of an old Howard Hughes car from the early 50's.

Beautiful car!!

427TJ 06-19-2017 05:24 PM

That AC unit is the ultimate Day 2 item. You can bet you won't see another musclecar with that piece.

69VN 06-19-2017 09:59 PM

Wow---stunning to find out this baby used to have AC in it!!!
Excellent restoration Eddie!

Eddie, the car may have come from AL but Bill Heard Chevrolet was in Columbus, GA on the border (river) with AL. Just thought I would mention that since I grew up there/here. I threw away every Bill Heard item I owned years ago.
I'll need to log in from home to be able to see the photos.

enio45 06-21-2017 07:48 PM

Dave, i may have been mistaken on the state - i did ncrs and need to dig the file out to see.....stay tuned

My '65 Nova was originally sold at Bill Heard. Wish you didn't throw away that stuff....
