Kurt...we got your registration... as always it will be great to see you and you always bring some really cool beer ...Last year’s cheese was tasty

ORIGLS6 03-16-2018 01:23 AM

Last year at SCR 20 we were happy to see Mr. Chuck Hanson make an appearance at the Thursday night Car-B-Que. Chuck and his lovely bride LaRae joined us Thursday evening, then returned on Friday for a rainy afternoon at Beech Bend Raceway, where Chuck even worked at the starting line when the racing finally happened. Saturday they drove back up to Bowling Green from their home outside Nashville in their amazing 427, 4-speed Bel Air to join us at the National Corvette Museum for the indoor show.

Just today we have confirmation that Chuck and LaRae will join us again for SCR 21, and we're excited to announce that Chuck has agreed to be our Guest Speaker at Friday Night's Banquet with the SuperCars in the National Corvette Museum. Chuck may be best known to every car guy as the host of HorsePower TV, or as the President of A.C.E.S. , the Nationwide Chevelle organization that he and LaRae founded and operated for years. But some of you may not know that Chuck was a significant member of the Petersen Publishing group, serving as Editor of CAR CRAFT magazine as well as other duties in the Petersen group, .... AND was also employed for many years in various capacities with the NHRA.
Chuck was somewhat reluctant when we first approached him about this, admitting he has stepped away from the spotlight to just enjoy being a 'Car Guy' and spending time traveling with his lovely wife. But he agreed to do something of a question and answer/Bench Race session in a totally informal atmosphere. "Hey Chuck, ..... that's absolutely what we're all about!" We look forward to hearing Chuck's stories and just hanging out with one of the coolest Car Guys ever on Friday night at the SCR 21 Banquet.

Dennis that is great ...thank you for getting Chuck to take time and speak at our banquet dinner...I am sure we will have several questions for him regarding his life with cars ...the military and life in Nashville :headbang:

Last years Reunion was the first time I had met Chuck. Then again at MCACN.
One of the nicest most gracious people you will ever meet.
Once again this is shaping up to be a can't miss event.
Jamie

Same here. Both he, and his wife are very cool people.

ORIGLS6 03-16-2018 06:02 PM

Thanks for reminding me Doug. I failed to mention Chuck's service during the Viet Nam era.
Chuck; my apology along with my sincere gratitude and respect Sir!

sYc 03-16-2018 10:35 PM

The Q and A with Chuck is reason enough to attend the reunion.

Copo_Cartel 03-22-2018 01:07 AM

I would like to welcome The Dennis Albaugh Collection from Iowa.....his car collection of 200 cars plus is unbelievable. Thank you to Dennis and his Curator Andy Snetselaar for once again being a big sponsor to our show this year....SCR21... Thank you Andy .

Agree. Big thanks you to both. (and the Fords are kinda cool) :-)

Hanging with Chuck and Andy at the SCR is really neat. A couple of car guys who really get it.

ORIGLS6 03-22-2018 09:57 PM

Andy is like family to us. I mean, in a GOOD way. Not like the weird brother-in-law that you try to avoid, or the cousin in the Winnebago, or the ............ Nevermind.

Cool Guy; Good Friend ! :beers::beers:

Copo_Cartel 03-22-2018 11:01 PM

That kind of reminds me of the family tree that does not fork !!!

kwhizz 03-23-2018 04:36 PM

Doug..........Check your PM's

Ken

You are too kind allowing this "red headed stepchild" to come out and play with you. Maybe I will have to bring a chevy this year.

kwhizz 03-23-2018 10:31 PM

Just Registered.........Gonna bring the "Beater" Chevelle..........I'll have to park in the Back lot, but that's O.K........LOL

I'm bringing the BBQ trailer this year instead of renting a car hauler. I might need a hand getting the smokers set up! Of course we might have to have something for lunch!

Copo_Cartel 05-03-2018 05:05 PM

B e e r !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ??

Pusher_Man 05-31-2018 11:19 PM

Doug, registrations sent in for myself, Chris, and Nuge...all with a banquet guest so we are looking forward to all the festivities.

Also, I'll keep everyone in the dark for now, but I'm hoping to have a special guest join us this year. Still pending as of now but it'll be pretty cool if it works out.

Kasey

Copo_Cartel 06-01-2018 12:08 PM

Sounds good Kasey. Looking forward to seeing you guys and your guests

That is the plan. Was actually going to drive it down, but 5 hours seems like a stretch. Planning to borrow a friends truck/trailer and haul it down.
