Here are some better pictures of Steve's 70 LS6 while having the original red paint polished up. Great car Steve.
Thanks for keeping the updates coming! https://i.ibb.co/bmMxz3t/IMG-9603.jpg https://i.ibb.co/QM7mnjb/IMG-9604.jpg https://i.ibb.co/GTmWqdQ/IMG-9605.jpg https://i.ibb.co/Dbw3tzR/IMG-9607.jpg https://i.ibb.co/37Bm23z/IMG-9609.jpg https://i.ibb.co/q7t5N9V/IMG-9611.jpg |
By the way...love that choice for your hose reel in that second last picture. :3gears:

To put the original paint into perspective after being polished...here's a picture showing the car after Steve got it (prior to polish work)

Super nice. Can you track back owner history with it being an Alberta car?

All polished up and now ready to match the paint to blow in the stone chips behind the rear wheels and paint the rear valance.

I couldn’t stand having a 69 “Chevelle” emblem on the trunk lid so Pete filled the old holes and blew in the red. He also welded up the power antenna hole and blew the top ridge of the quarter in. The paint on the trunk lid other than where the emblem goes is the old paint. I can’t believe how well the paint matches.
|
Incredible results, what's he using to blow those areas in with?..PPG Deltron?

3 coats of ceramic wax and now it’s ready to come home. I’ve still got to replace the hacked out floor hump with a perfect southern one I cut out, rebuild the callipers, wheel cylinders, and master cylinder, remove the headers and install the proper dated manifolds, smog, and complete NOS exhaust system. Hopefully drive it in a month or so.
|
Looks great Steve!
|
I hope to drive it a month too-hopefully this snow we got today will be gone-lol!Looks good Steve-that Pete is a wizard!
Keep on Cruising! Dave |
Leave the Headers!

The only part of the interior that needed to be repaired was the drivers seat. I sent it to my buddy Will and he repaired the original covers with original material I had from other original seat covers. Looks pretty good.
