Any comments I’ve made throughout this auction were never posted to my knowledge. Or removed very quickly. LOL

It’s all good. Reality is we as car enthusiasts can only do so much to police the hobby. We are all hopefully smart enough to do our own due diligence prior to bidding or buying any muscle car. It is hard to stand by and watch the crooks do what they do and not step in though. Many of us here have helped each other over the years and some have helped others without even knowing it. Merry Christmas!

Yours got flagged as not constructive. Mine was removed completely after it initially posted. My user name doesn't even appear anymore...

My one comment is still up. Has four "likes".

My comment was not flagged/removed:

"Why does the car have a fake VIN tag? Is it a rebody? Nice that the frame matched the title, it would be even nicer if the body did.
If not a rebody, where is the original VIN tag?"

The seller did not respond to my questions.

Did you read the sellers comment to your post ?

He doubted anyone in the OK DMV would recognize a rosette rivet if they saw one...what an arrogant, asshat jerk. Like OK is so backwoods they have no clue ?

I read his response.

He may be half right. The Highway Patrol used to have classes that all tag agents had to attend on identifying swapped or bogus vin plates. I don't think they do any more.

Either way, anyone at a tag office, even without much training, COULD spot that vin plate as a "reproduction". They might not, but they could. I wouldn't take a chance on such a car.

It would be nice if someone know the "buyer" from the 2021 auction. Apparently, he is no longer on BAT. User name: baddington24

Ought to ask him to have a state cop look at it if he thinks there's no problem.....

Yeah, looking at the two auctions, and the Seller's attempt to "play dumb", and the handling of this one by BAT, there is definitely more to the story somewhere.

64-65 Chevelle SS's came standard with buckets, but a console was only included if you ordered a powerglide or a 4-speed (unlike 64-67 Impala SS 3-on-tree's which came with an automatic console with the block off plate over the shifter hole as you noted).

I presume 64-65 Chevelles were not done like Impala SS's because there is no storage compartment in a 64-65 Chevelle console, so you were not gaining anything. And the automatic console would look sort of dorky with no shifter in it, the way it suddenly gets much taller right behind where the shifter would be.

I clicked the 'Flag as not constructive' button. BAT did not remove his comment. What a crock.

Not only did they not remove his comment, they now have it highlighted in yellow and have removed the link for anyone to flag it !!!! So his comment apparently was appreciated and affirmatively endorsed by BAT staff. Guess they didn't like the car not meeting reserve and depriving them of a fee.

In my opinion that establishes a total lack of integrity for BAT as an organization. As if their being willing to list a car with an admitted fake VIN tag wasn't bad enough to begin with ...
