Verne...

Sad news...he was a great member of our hobby and truly will be missed. I had the pleasure to share a swap meet booth with him at GM Carlisle in 2009. He had made all the arrangements and we hung out for a few days...lots of fun, even sold a few parts. We tried to reconnect again a few times for another swap meet, but my timing was never good.

Whenever I see a post about the early 60's cars, I automatically think of Verne.

RIP

I didn’t know him personally, but he always seemed respectful in his posts. RIP...

Wow, sorry to hear about Verne! I'm glad I had a chance to meet him at few times at the Jackson Outlets cruise nights.

I am just stunned. We communicated via this site, email and phone multiple times. I had family in NJ and we were always talking about getting together if I ever got up that way.

Verne was a great resource when I was laying out the framework on the trim tag law we got passed in OK.

The hobby lost a giant.

I just saw this on Ken Tibor's FB page. So sorry to hear this. I spent some fun days with Verne. At one time he was considering moving to Illinois (God knows why!). He came here looking for some property near a lake so he could play with a nice vintage boat he had just bought. I actually picked up an outboard motor for him at MCACN, stored it at my house for a while and then delivered it to his friend's house East of where I live when Verne came back to visit.

Always friendly and a big. booming, welcoming voice whenever you saw him. Godspeed Verne. You'll leave a big hole in many hearts.
