I think there was a different orange '68 Z that was in Oregon around that time and it was not from Dana.

My name is Dale and I have the other orange Dana 68 z28.
I bought my car in 1985 from the original owner. Is the car in the photo mine? Not sure.
The original owner died in 2010ish. I was unaware of this photo at that time. After I purchased the car I had a few discussions with the original owner, Walter, who I bought the car from. These talks happened several years after I had painted the car. I repainted because the black striped were checked badly and I didn't like "tangers, or Mcclaren orange" as Walter called the color. I painted it hugger orange.
Walter told me many stories about the car. I kinda got a feeling the stories were embellished remembrances. One was how he used rubbing compound to remove a big number 1 and Dana that were painted on the car when he bought it. The car still had 80% original paint when I bought it. I didn't notice evidence of previous additional paintwork on doors or quarters.
My car doesn't have z28 emblems. I has 302 emblems. Walter said Dana gave him z28 emblems that he never installed on the car. If z28 emblems require holes to be drilled when replacing 302 emblems. And the car in question has z28 emblems. Then, the car in the picture is not mine.
My car is has the bright work like the picture.

#3 it is believed the car is Omaha orange. When you use a color changing app for vintage photos the car becomes orange

Could you share the name of that app? TIA

It is called “PhotoApp”.

Attached is the edited photo from the app where it changes it to orange.
