I beat the living daylights out of it at the 1986 Musclecar Nationals. It was never that quick anyway. The best it would do was 14.05 at 108 mph [/ QUOTE ] https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif |

Here is what is on the Speed Channel website about tonights show: Get geared up for the 2004 Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction with our exclusive preview show tonight - ONLY on SPEED! Friday 10pm ET [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, right. I went out for dinner and took my time getting home. At 10PM I put the TV on SPEED and found auto racing. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif I had checked my local schedule and posted it was on at 9 EST... and it was... so i missed it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif But in your defense, it DOES say it started at 10PM at the Speed website. Oh well.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif ~GOAT72 |
Re: Barrett-Jackson Auction Tonight!
I enjoyed the preview show on the Barrett-Jackson Auction. I especially liked the 68 Yenko Camaro they showed, only for a brief couple of seconds.

Re: Barrett-Jackson Auction Tonight!
Before anybody flies out to purchase # 66 you should check with the seller as I was just told that the car was apparently stolen years ago and the Owner just showed up in Arizona with the Police and got his car back. If I am wrong, beat me with a stick but I don't think I'm wrong. Wow.......update.. claimed ownership is in dispute....better off to wait on any more news until this gets sorted out........

Re: Barrett-Jackson Auction Tonight!
I'm gonna be at the auction. In fact, today I stopped by the B-J store in Scottsdale and they had a triple black stripe-delete LS6 that was going for 70-something. I took a pic of it with my cell phone so I will try to post it tomorrow.

[/ QUOTE ] Charlie, feel free to give the current owner my contact info, I will pm you with it. I still have two full albums of photos from that car. It's strange how cars pass in and out of your life. Way back in 1980 I was going to diesel school in Denver and saw a little blurb in an NHOA news letter about the car. Then in 1985 I met up with the owner and ended up buying the car from him. About the $$$ factor I had heard there was some trade(s) involved so money was an estimate. If you have a more accurate figure that I can give my wife I'm sure she'd appreciate it! I do still have one of the monetary offspring of that car: my 1970 Hemi 4 speed Charger R/T-SE (1 of 4 produced) I bought it right after I sold the 71 hemi ragtop in 1987. It had 12,232 miles on it at the time and now 17 years later it has 15,775 miles. It's one of the longest lasting, most satisfying relationships I've had (next to my 10 years of marriage - Wife standing over shoulder now...can't talk...)-Steve Oh and yes that photo was at Quaker City. Were you there and did you beat me? I'd post a larger picture but I can't seem to figure out how to reduce the size of the file without reducing the size of the photo -can anyone help? |
Re: Barrett-Jackson Auction Tonight!
