How about a 73 AMC Gremlim "X" 304CI. purple with white stripe dusting off a 69 z-28 302,4-speed black with gold stripes. As the story goes my brother and I were taking a buddy home from school when the Z-28 was in front of us going out of town. When we got out of town we saw a downshift from the Z so my bro says lets play.Needless to say we went past the Z in 2nd gear at 90mph,at which time the Z let off. What great times those were.

If most of us big 3 guys will admit...we got beat by a few AMC's in our life too. How about the 69 AMX with the factory dual quads and tin valve covers? Bad car! Hard to beat. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Re: What is Considered a Day 2 Car?

my car is built up to resemble a day2 old school theme.it's a 72 camaro ss with a 350 sbc all of the engine parts & accessories are all 70's vintage parts.here is what's on the engine : edelbrock TR1-X tunnel ram with early 70's holley 600cfm carbs, older mallory unilite and accel super coil, flex a lite "green" fiberglass flex fan and M/T finned valve covers.the camshaft in the motor is the GM mechanical "off-road" #140 cam and and it sounds nice.now the camaro also has the look of the 70's with ansen 15x4 slot mags and 15x10 us-indy slot mags.i've got a L88 hood with a grafted in 7" tall GM grump lump hood scoop to cover the tunnel ram.the interior is also 70's with a sun blue-line tach on the colum and a B&M quick-click shifter replacing the factory console https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Here is my 1970 426 Hemi Charger R/T-SE back when I first saw it in Jersey with 12,000 miles on the clock in 1987. It had been sitting since 1973 in this form. Fat and skinny Cragers, Parnelli Jones L60x15 rubber in the back and discount E70x15 fronts. A real day2 dinosaur.
