Thanks Rich for your opinion! It helps confirm some of my own thoughts.

Good comments Rich. If you dare, can define 'Pedigree'? Are there degrees of 'Pedigree'? [/ QUOTE ] I would imagine it would consist of a real car with no issues or rumors surrounding it, no gaps in ownership or miraculous resurections from the dead with no restoration photos to back it up (rebody). A car that has been known through a series of legitimate owners or one owner for an extended period of time. Real original paperwork and photos from the original owners. Legitimate low mileage that can be corroborated/documented by registration or warranty paperwork. Personally I'd prefer an unrestored car with a bunch of original grease, dirt and oil on the bottom so you could definitively say no one has messed with it over the years. I've never bought a finished car in 30 years of playing with these things. I always prefer the "diamonds in the rough." That way I know what I'm getting into. |
Re: Mecum Florida
I undrstand that the 1969 Corvette that Terry Carney owned sold for over $100,000. It was a very nice car with great ownership history and paperwork. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

That's great news Tim. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
I was hoping that car would sell to help his daughter out. |
Re: Mecum Florida
I wonder how his War Bonnet Yellow Vette and Judge did.

Re: Mecum Florida
I heard they did OK, not as well as the '69 Corvette. I understand that they brought $33,000 for the '73 and $66,000 for the Judge. They were both very nice cars, Terry offered the '73 to me in the low 30's and I always thought that was a good car at a fair price. I was temped to drive it home from Road America last summer, that was the first time I saw the '73. I'm sure it will be at Bloomington going for Benchmark soon.

Re: Mecum Florida
Is that the original unrestored 73 Vette ? Cause a friend of mine bought that car if thats the one..

Re: Mecum Florida
Yes, 454 four speed with AC and lots of other options. If I remember, it had 42,000 miles and original paint. Warbonnet Yellow with black leather. A very nice car that should be a Benchmark car. I hope to see it again some time.

Re: Mecum Florida
Tim,,,Glad to hear that Terrys cars did well. Im sure that will really help his daughters bottom line. Now, all there is to my knowledge are the Beswick Judge models. I have been wondering about the pro-mod style 37 Ford he had. I forgot all about it but know that it was last in Florida somewhere on consignment or in storage or something........Bill S

Re: Mecum Florida
I think he sold "Fatso". I think they still have the Black Vette in the garage and the big U Haul truck. I went by his house last week- I didn't stop, but it looked like no one was around. I can't remember if I saw his old "Monte Carlo in the bubble"
