Re: '68 Berger Z/28 brought back
Air compresses, fuel or water does not. It either lost a head gasket and ate a cylinder full of coolant, or had a stuck needle and seat filled a cylinder with enough fuel- it fired on one cylinder came around and stopped on that one. Ran thru a car wash while running ???
I say OUCH either way!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |

"Hydraulic'd?? "
We used to see that a lot with my friend's '63 FI Corvette. The fuel blocks on those units were the culprit and would leak fuel into a cylinder. When the engine fired quickly, (which didn't happen often)if the cylinder containing the fuel was on a compression stroke............ TROUBLE! |
Re: '68 Berger Z/28 brought back

Re: '68 Berger Z/28 brought back
we used to see that with guys who bought brand new race boats with no experience driving them ,brought them up to speed and then slammed the throttles shut, water would shoot up through the water jackets and load the cylinders, end of ride...

Re: '68 Berger Z/28 brought back
Finished the brake system today. The 4 piston calipers came out great- Calipers online did a great job. The prop. valve and distribution block from RIGHT STUFF I have to say different on! Niether piece looked even close when I got them. Ended up disassembling ,blasting and replating the old stuff. Thought I had the wrong power booster because there was no delco stamp,Then I saw the 8515 stamping and reused it.
Starting on the dash assembly next. Want to have done and drivable for the BERGER show and reunion. |
