Stopped up and looked the car over. Very much a street racer set up car. It is a BV coded rear. So having lived in that time period, the 1st owner knew what he was ordering. Good street set up, and some tweaking to make it hook and breathe. And some neat add ons. It would have given a COPO Camaro a good run in the day. Cool piece.

What would you like to see? Dave

Awesome find, absolutely submit the car for MCACN!
|
Great project... will be absolutely gorgeous when done. The Metallic colors just do not hold up near as well as solids.
|
Great story - along for the ride!
|
What a great find I agree it needs to be in Chicago this year as found condition
|
I can't believe I missed your thread. I guess we see so many fake "barn finds" these days that I just over looked the title. Congrats!
Do you mind if I ask what town in Mass it came from? I'm from Mass and I want to puke when I find out it lived next door to me for the last 40 years lol... I saw the New England Speed Equipment sticker. |
Terrific car... with Baldwin history, and an unmolested time capsule too! Congrats!!
|
What a super cool find and great car!
These are just my thoughts: 1) Leave it as is and please bring it to MCACN in the Barn Finds Display. 2) After MCACN, do what you can to make it road worthy. 3) Like others said......don't restore it if at all possible otherwise it will be just another restored Camaro (no offense to other restored Camaros). Remember, it's only original once. Kurt |
Thanks guys. That is my plan Kurt. It might be pretty extensive to get it roadworthy, but would be neat to park next to a car in a lot and not care if they opened their door in the rear quarter. :) gonna be hard to keep my hands off of it till November. I PM'd Ashton, does he still frequent board?

Yes.....Bob is on here often.

Finally Sold!

1969 Camaro Olympic Gold L78 Barn find.

There's something about bringing back a car with such history and significance to its original state of how it was known. Finally after a 5 year restoration process I am proud to release the pictures of my 1969 Camaro Olympic Gold born with drivetrain L78 with Baldwin add ons. I had the opportunity and pleasure to unveil the car at MCACN 2024. Hope I achieved what the car deserved.
Thank you SYC members who followed the thread of this find. |
Spectacular! You should have left the 250 emblems on though:burnout:

Gorgeous!! Love the car!! It looked spectacular at MCACN!
|
Car looks great! Did you ever try to obtain an NCRS report for it? Would be nice to know for sure if it was from Baldwin.
|
That is spectacular. I love the Olympic Gold and Motion additions. That is perfect.
|
Looked great at MCACN - thanks for bringing it.

After a 7 year silence from the OP, it begs the question, how and when did you acquire a car from Iowa ? It is a very nice restoration and I read the placard, but had never seen this original thread to understand where it came from.

Great car
|
Thank you
Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone. This is what makes it all worth it.
|
Awesome job.
