Sam, You should know this car, I bought it from the original owner not too far from you in Schnecksville, PA. The car is for sale if anyone has interest, send me a PM.

Salvatore 03-19-2018 02:47 AM

Love the Astros. have them on my nova.

Love those old chrome slots. Wish guys would run them and chrome reverse more often.

I run Chrome reverse wheels (well... technically not "reverse", as the Nova Body won't allow it).

Tuff look!. Thanks!

markinnaples 03-23-2018 03:49 PM

novadude, your Nova looks killer.

novadude 03-26-2018 05:41 PM

Thanks, guys! I've had the Chrome wheels for ~7 years now. I might mix it up a bit this season and run painted steel wheels with dog dish caps.

Found a nice pair of Mickey Thompson Indy Profiles in an H50/15 sizing. One has slight use on it while the other is NOS condition with all the original nubs on it. No dry checking or tire rot and great for static display with the tires going onto some Torque Thrusts.

Those are some meats! Congrats!

olredalert 05-16-2018 04:25 PM

Back many, many years ago I worked for a friend in Akron who had a filing cabinet business. In the same storage building that he kept stuff was stacks and stacks and more stacks of Mickey Thompson tires. The company's offices were also on the same property. Had them on my 67 SS Chevelle!.......Bill S

NorCam 05-17-2018 01:18 AM

They are cool tires...but mounted these today and bummed to find one was punctured on the sidewall. Thankfully it wasn't the NOS tire, but leaves me on the hunt for another H50/15 MT tire if anybody ever sees a straggler out there?

chevyandpontiac 05-18-2018 12:57 PM

Why don't you patch the side wall and put a tube in it? It is still use able that way.

NorCam 05-18-2018 06:18 PM

That's an option I am looking at. :)

My friend that was over last night is looking to see if he has a tube that will fit and said the same things you did. Now to see if I can find a small tube that works for the low profile and has the valve stem in the center location rather than offset to the outside.

chevyandpontiac 05-18-2018 06:48 PM

If you can not find one let me know, My local mechanic shop does a pretty good job finding parts for me.

big gear head 05-21-2018 08:20 PM

I saw these on craigslist today. Looks like the Mickey Thompson tread pattern. https://bloomington.craigslist.org/p...594419754.html

NorCam 05-22-2018 05:34 AM

Those are Kelly Super Chargers. Tread pattern differs a lot from the MT and is more like the old Firestone S/S.

big gear head 05-22-2018 12:03 PM

Sorry, I actually meant it looks like the pattern on the MT Pro Street tires, not the smaller tires. I guess McCreary or someone else used that tread pattern before the MT Pro Street tires came along.

NorCam 05-23-2018 04:10 AM

My trouble is that I like all those old tires. Hard to find them in usable condition now days. :)

NorCam 06-05-2018 03:24 AM

Killer car Rich. Wheels and tires are looking really good on there!

big gear head 06-05-2018 11:56 AM

Love the Nova. The black top on white really looks good, and the polished slots are great.

chevyandpontiac 06-05-2018 01:14 PM

That looks awesome, it has that perfect look! Nice car and nice wheel tire combo.

markinnaples 06-05-2018 01:51 PM

Those polished slots look fantastic. Are they new wheels or old?

Bernhard 06-05-2018 02:02 PM

Very nice

Mr. Chevy 06-06-2018 01:53 AM

Thanks all for the compliments..

Yes, these are new US Mag Wheels with new front tires and old Mickey Thompson cheater slicks.. They appear to be identical to the older ones and are very nice...

Rich

novadude 06-06-2018 12:53 PM

Thanks...

Wheels are: Fronts are 15x5 and rears 15x7.. Rear slicks are 15 inch, 28 inches tall and 7 inches wide. Front tires are Firestone 6.70x15. and can be bought through Coker.

Rich

NorCam 06-07-2018 02:20 PM

I have those same Firestone fronts for a set of drag wheels I'm setting up for my 69. Tony hooked me up with the Firestone Drag 500 rears w/ tubes a couple months ago. I'm still needing to pickup a good set of 7" wheels to mount these on but trust they'll look great for static display and shows. I like the Drag 500's as that was Kym's go to tire when the car raced SS/LA throughout the 70's. Although the rears were bigger back then.

Put these on my 68 the other day. Sure am liking the look, but they rub on the quarter wheel openings every bump. They’re only 14x7” with 215 60R14 rubber. Grrrr!

markinnaples 06-28-2018 03:14 PM

Helmut, that Camaro is really sharp.

mockingbird812 06-28-2018 05:16 PM

Slots are da bomb on that Camaro!

vince 06-28-2018 10:13 PM

looks real nice
