For those that noticed you will see that my original door handles finally came back from the plater and we installed them at the show. Looks much better now. :)

Thanks to Phil Woj, Earl H, Bruce H, Mark D, several other sYc members and others online who have helped with our search, I have finally located and received all but the drip rail moldings I am still looking for. All these pieces were NOS and came from people who reluctantly but graciously decided to sell the parts to us so for that we are very thankful. I will be getting the Chevelle back in the shop this weekend and told Annie her relaxation is now over. Enjoy her weekdays cuz that is about all she will have as her nights and weekends are going to be booked up for a while. :)

Thanks to Jason for swapping out his mint NOS 990B monitor for my not as nice one plus some cash. This one will look great on the firewall. Not that the other one was not good but this one was mint so thank you for doing that.

My pleasure Rick. I think the one in the picture is the one I received, not the one I sent. Is that right?

Thanks,

Jason

This past weekends project were the gauges and wiring harness. All were torn down, cleaned and repaired as necessary. The carriers were badly rusted and corroded so all had to be stripped and cleared or repainted as original including the white interiors. All hardware restored. Next comes a new gauge lens face and then mounted into the dash carrier that was in excellent shape. I will finish on the dash carrier in the coming evenings and assemble it as a unit in anticipation of installing it shortly.

As a general rule I replace all wiring harnesses whether they need to or not at least under the hood for safety reasons. The rest depends on the condition. When ever I use reproduction harnesses I always open them up and replace some of the wires with correctly colored ones from my inventory and change out any incorrect ones. American Auto Wire custom made all the harnesses on the car by hand using some of the items I sent them and they did a great job. The dash harness was still in great shape so I ended up restoring my original using original style tapes and wraps. Original color coded fuses were also cleaned and reused.

All electrical switches were disassembled, rebuild and relubed. I do this on almost every restoration to insure everything is brand new.

The intermediate harness was supplied by AAW and the sheathing was the original which was restored.
