Re: Canadian 1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe SS, L78, M22
Fantastic memories!!!!
I had a spirited ride in a 70 W31 and it felt pretty serious. I have no high horse experience......... Other than parking the L89 cars at our L89 display:-) Ryan |

Great find.
It's nearly a twin to the one I'm rebuilding. Hope to see it in person sometime. |
Re: Canadian 1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe SS, L78, M22
Back on topic:-)
Be careful about sharing the 1995 Canadian Docs they used to provide the microfiche with option and engine data for the car, but the sheet would have all the cars before and after (so this is kind of sharing someone else's data) but the main concern I would have with sharing it is the key code data, you can use those codes to go to any GM dealer to have keys cut..... I want to be the only person with keys for my car.... I assume you are the same way:-) The keys codes are also written on my original invoice, so you have to be careful. Ryan What a cool car, and your stories of back in the day are confirming my hunch that I have been born a generation late:-) :-( |

Re: Canadian 1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe SS, L78, M22
Doug, I have the twin sister to your car, also a black on black 69 L78 2 Dr Post car, bench seat 4 speed, Cdn car also. I'll check my GM sheet to see when it was built too, but it also was a Baltimore built car , has the brightwork too and the D96 side stripe. Mine is an M20 tranny vs your M22,.....
Dan , you have another great car for your 2Dr Post site ! Congrats Doug, a great car and a great find! |

Re: Canadian 1969 Chevelle 300 Deluxe SS, L78, M22
Doug, so back to Marv's W31. It was a 12 sec. car and you still didn't want any of that with your COPO Chevelle? I know Danny B tells me his L78 Nova ran in the 12's. And I always heard about "BENSONS" green L79 Chevy II being really fast too.
Now wouldn't Bozak's Nova with your L72 from the Chevelle be a handful as it pulled the wheels on the street with Danny in there with Murray. What about Ed Van DerTuin's 427 Nova, or Al Bears cars and even "The Christmas Tree", I forget his name of hand. He's from town too. So a W31 could run with a Yenko Duece back in the day? I always hear that these cars went near as fast as people think? And you can see even Pro Stock was around 9.90 or 10.0 cars in 1970 with all there work too. John |
