What will make your POP any different from the guy who used the aged POP with the fake name? Not much." "Pretty soon these scammers will be dropping some old guy a few bucks to say he used to own it and then put his name on the fake POP. How do you prove otherwise in that case? " The more that crap starts happening, the less merit your real POP will have because everyone will doubt everything. These immoral practices will have an impact on everyone who thinks they are safe because their car has real docs. [/ QUOTE ] Fortunately I also have title, insurance and reg stubs from the original owner but I see your point. Scammers will stop at nothing to make a buck. They will even have "the old guy" on video remembering when HE used to cruise that Z28 vert. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif |

[/ QUOTE ] A.)dmv history can be a poor way of determining a cars true pedigree.but radiocarbon dating documents can and will be a sure way of determination.i know this may sound extreme but as we evolve in our technology this is what it comes down to....i'm sure data banks will eventually lists all the true high dollar cars by vin#.a fake car can be determined through extensive research.determining the block, heads etc....a real good recreation that utilizes true era correct components will be expensive to biuld in the first place.making it worth a few bucks in itself.would it be worth that expense and effort? not without true doc's..not fake ones....remember,docs can be authenticated. as far as less merit of a real pop...i'm sorry to say but that has already happened.....
