Re: Roof Deuce Restoration

You bet John! I am planning using Shawn Price's (Galvestons) engine builder Denis. He has a Sun set up to dial her in.

Reassembled most of the distributor. Two-piece cap needs to be restored and am waiting for my points to come in.

That's just down-right purty.

So, looking at the bottom photo, is this the second half of that "Double Life" distributor?

Nice work Sir!

Astute observation there DC . My budget couldn't afford the CAT version of distributor. That one's got NINE lives!!

Re: Roof Deuce Restoration

Been awhile since I posted an update. A few more day-two parts are completed. Sometimes the seemingly easy restorations are the most difficult and time consuming The exhaust tips were the only portion of the Roof's exhaust pipes that I was able to save/restore.....

Re: Roof Deuce Restoration

As mentioned before I am going to give MCACN's Day Two Concourse judging a shot. The parts used for this judging have to be period correct (not a Jegs catalog) and they will be looking for the original part numbers. These are the Roof's original Cherry Bombs. They had a bit of road rash which i had to massage out. A bigger challenge was that I couldn't find a exhaust temp high gloss Ch. Bomb red so the powder coater put a ceramic coating on the mufflers to seal the heat in and then powder coated over that. Period correct C. Bomb stickers are being made....

Re: Roof Deuce Restoration

Ansen caps rechromed after pitting was repaired. Will top off the Roof's original Ansen Sprint aluminum slot wheels that they ran on their Deuce. Caps will have the indented portions painted satin black as per originals....
