Did a 1969 427/435hp vette sell for 50K last night. Anyone know the quality of the car? Thanks, Patrick [/ QUOTE ] Patrick, That '69 LeMans blue 435 coupe and the Fathom green '69 400 coupe were both undocumented with factory paperwork and in average condition. An NCRS member was there and looked at them, they are discussed on the NCRS technical discussion board forum. 50K for the L71 and 33K for the L68. |
Re: Cars to watch at Barrett Jackson
From what I saw on TV (Not too much), I thought the Silver vette was well bought as well as the Autumn Gold LS6 Chevelle.

Re: Cars to watch at Barrett Jackson
Buying a #'rd car at BJ has to be the worst place for the average, not an educated SYC guru" on the planet to do that. Very scary, with all the fakes, rebodies, etc. in our world today. I love BJ for what it is, a car auction with all kinds and all personalities, charities , etc.

BJ is a place to go and have a good time with friends....look at cars...and maybe, just maybe score a deal on a car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Cars to watch at Barrett Jackson
QUICK QUESTION....
As an unsatified seller...ie:did'nt meet your price expectations or whatever..... can a seller get his/her vehicle back? i believe i have heard of the term "buy back" on this site...??? |
Re: Cars to watch at Barrett Jackson
Bid to own your own stuff...

Re: Cars to watch at Barrett Jackson
If you don't want to sell your car at the price that it went off the block at, you were able to pay both sides of the commission and keep it. Which meant, you paid 20% of the sale price to BJ. They frown on this now because people who bought cars, went in to pay and found out the car that they thought was now theirs was not really sold to them.
The way sellers get around this now is to either bid on the car themselves or more likely have a friend do it. Once the money is worked out after the fact, they are still out 20% to BJ plus the listing fee (usually $800 or more) plus the shipping and cost to be there. That's why I laugh when someone says to me, "Well if I took my car to BJ I would get more money". My reply is always, "Do you think so? Then you should take it there and learn the game." |
