Re: Tim Schuetz;s (NAPA68) not so stock 1967 Nova!
Spent the weekend putting the Nova back together. I am really impressed with the shock tower brace I purchased from a fellow over on Steve's Nova Site. The car would fire right up if the idiot working on it would remember to reconnect the distributor leads
Still have to make up my new battery cables plus I need to source (or fabricate) a driveshaft loop. http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7094d7c4.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...psb6a5a9a4.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...ps40fb3a78.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2bd91a5c.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3116b282.jpg |
Re: Tim Schuetz;s (NAPA68) not so stock 1967 Nova!
Very cool car. I like 'em racey and that car fits. The build is great and you should be proud. About the loop, there is a company that makes a powder coated black one-piece that I used. I think it was you who was asking about it in a different thread. I responded twice and my first was a little incorrect. I just remember being somewhat impressed with the idea, the clean installation, and didn't have to hack up my car.. The one I speak of should have an application for your Nova, and will blend right in with the under-side of your car.

Tim,
Looks fantastic....does the new shock tower brace...interfere with the air cleaner? Dan |
Re: Tim Schuetz;s (NAPA68) not so stock 1967 Nova!
Plenty of room for the usual 14" air cleaner Dan
Too bad I scattered the clutch in it. I would have loved to have been driving it this weekend. Time for more upgrades! Faceplate the Tremec? M22W G Force Jericho? Hmmmmmm |

Re: Tim Schuetz;s (NAPA68) not so stock 1967 Nova!
Making progress on the upgrades as of recent. To my surprise, the clutch was a real disappointment. For what I spent on it originally, I expected more from it than a fastener failure. 2 studs for the pressure plate were tore out with a third on the way. I am really particular with torque when I assemble things like this but...............
http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...ps01829759.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...psa7746975.jpg I did order my M22W this week and should hopefully have it in a week or two. I did find myself a REALLY nice Hurst Ram Rod for the M22W http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0c8e4b59.jpg And also decided on my plan of attack for a driveshaft loop. I am just going to weld the loop to my X pipe. It should tuck in nicely. http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...pscbd7c15a.jpg Once that is all completed, the x pipe and mufflers will go back to powder coating. Then I can order up a new driveshaft and let the beating continue. |

<span style="font-size: 14pt">I swung by Summit HQ off of 71 in Ohio last weekend and they had this Lakewood loop on display. Of course it requires attachment to the floor pan...
