I would not use any professional auctions on this car. My experience (again mine) is that second gen Camaros don't do well at auction.

You can do ok on ebay with a car like yours that presents well. Get some professional pics taken, and write a good ad (maybe post here for tips on a good ad).

Pics of the block stampings would go a long way. I think (like others have said, opinion) the fact that your car has the original engine is much more of a plus than the negatives of color (I like the forest green) and automatic.

Just my .02,

Oh, and I agree on time of year. Income tax return time is much easier to sell a car. Make sure if you do an ebay ad, that the auction does not end on a holiday, Fri or Sat night, or middle of the day. I found that Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings around 8pm central time were prime selling times (east and west coast can bid).

GLWS!

Rich

Solid advice, esp regarding the timing of auction ending. I always schedule mine so that both the east and west coast can bid at reasonable evening times.

Looks like car headed to Mecum Houston auction?

Looks to be the same car?
https://www.mecum.com/lots/HA0417-28...let-camaro-ss/

This is a really nice car, I love the green & green interior- so '70s!
Surprised by home many people buy only with the goal to flip for a quick profit, instead of buying cars to enjoy for the long term. This Camaro deserves a good home with an enthusiast owner. On the other hand, it takes a lot of guts to take a 396 2nd Gen Camaro with Auto & green/green color combo to auction and look to profit after all expenses are taken into account.
I was at Houston last year, my brother bought a white '69 Z/28 there and we got an education on all the "soft costs" involved on buying at the auction venue.
Anyone on here know any history on that Z/28? I was surprised by how much was known/discussed on board abut the various '69 Z/28s sold at Barrett Jackson last January.
Great info to have.
Cheers

Looked better with the stock wheels and tires

Will be interesting to see how it does, looks like a really nice car.

"Looked better with the stock wheels and tires"...14" SS wheels or Cragars would look great against that green paint, IMO.

"Surprised by home many people buy only with the goal to flip for a quick profit, instead of buying cars to enjoy for the long term"...Kind of a shame isn't it?
