Looking good on there Helmut. Is that the old brown Camaro coupe I saw at your place about 10 years ago?

Postsedan 07-25-2019 02:02 AM

Nice, now please put back the door and trunk locks.

Dan

L78M22Rag 07-25-2019 07:09 AM

Thanks guys.

Dan, yes I will get to that... eventually. I’m not concerned about locking the car up until I can drive it somewhere. ;-)

Graeme, yes that’s my nephew Justin’s project. It looked brown but it was Garnet Red paint (repainted once already) and faded and rubbed down to the primer. The car has come a long way. Factory Garnet Red with white vinyl top and white houndstooth... and a 307 PG. Eventually we may put a few more cubes under the hood, but for now we just want to get er on the road.

How many kids are working on their cars at Uncle Helmut's now days?

Looking for 2 center caps for my front runners I believe they are Appliance A F/X wheels. they have no marking on the inside of them.

NorCam 11-28-2019 12:35 AM

Been hanging onto these Firestone Drag 500's that Tony hooked me up with a couple years ago but needed to find another set of wheels to mount them up on. Found this set of polished Centerline's a couple weeks ago and the slicks are now mounted up and ready for display. Need to dig out a Firestone display stand and will keep these in my shop now.

That white stuff on the tire is snow as I just rolled them into the shop. We got about a foot of snow here the last 24 hours and it's still coming down.

Just went on that day! Feel like Fred Flinstone's meats back there for the first few blocks til they get some heat. Jim said he ran 'em on Woodward sometimes but the hubcaps weren't much of a disguise for the regulars and they were hard on parts compared to the redlines, which didn't offer much resistance ...

Great look with the hubcaps!

Tenney 12-09-2019 02:36 AM

Of note ...

The tight shot ^^ of the slick was taken by our own yenko.net local, Keith Seymore, at the '08 Dream Cruise (good one, Keith!).

Where can I find a set of those center caps with the red emblem?

Verne

Mr. Chevy 12-11-2019 11:34 PM

Verne, Those are American Racing TTs with the American Racing Center Cap. What I did was buy a set of the red Atlas center cap decals from a gentleman on the site here and placed those over the American Racing decal on the caps... Came out pretty cool.

Rich

Verne_Frantz 12-31-2019 07:51 PM

Thank you. I have to hunt down a set of those. My ET mags have a green center cap decal which doesn't go very well on a Nassau Blue car.

Tires are ten years old, but I used to drive this summers (until the cops waged war against any modified cars).

HA! Yes Bill, people have been trying to buy this car from me from the time I got it 40 years ago (before Wayne died, he gave me the Duarte Motors receipt from 1970 when he bought it). Nothing moves without getting stopped in this town now.

Tony has set the bar for this thread in the stratosphere!! Nice score! :worship:

I've never been a white letter guy except on cars where they are OEM correct.
When I needed MCACN worthy rubber for the vintage Keystone 5 spokes on the Concours wagon these NOS F70-14 Remington Belted Bias seemed appropriate. Now I'm hooked! - Bill W
